Daffy, I’ve seen the Fly Sister’s site before, and LOVE to look at all the photos of their vintage travel trailers. I have a vintage motorhome myself, which I’ve fixed up and wouldn’t have any problem living in it whatsoever.
I agree with you that it’d be a bit more difficult being footloose in an RV as a woman, but there are women who do it. This site has some links you might be interested in also:

Do you have an RV?
Many years ago, when I had a TV, I saw a documentary on the Fly Sister’s. They did a “tour” of the restored RV’s and the charming women who decorate and own them. I was intrigued. But from what I remember, these women seemed very well healed, and they meet in various locations across the USA, primarily in the southwest. I didn’t get the sense that traveled in these RVs but to only get to another Fly Siter destination and things were pretty programed once they got there. Then they went back to their charity raising and 40K acre ranches in Montana.
I do like their style though b/c I’m a cowgirl at heart. And Martha Stewart learned everything from me. ;)
You mentioned traveling solo as a woman. There are a lot of things to do that I would pass up b/c I was alone. While I can carry in five states and I think I’m capable, I’m not nearly as relaxed as when a tall testosterone laced guy is around.
Sounds like you are an RVer and have some experience.
Thanks for the link ...I’ll check out the site.
Creative ways to save money ping
I have ordered from Walton Feed and was very happy, you will find other Freepers who also order from them.
Thanks for the ping.
You were right, Walton Feed is a wonderful place to shop.
I would do so today, if I could still cook, but then I have quite a lot of their food in the pantry, it is so fresh when it comes, that it lasts longer than warehouse food.
Thanks so much for the ping. Will check them out.
read later.

Buy in bulk from a local health food store, or place bulk orders directly with mail-order companies. If you cant meet their minimum order size, go in on an order with another family, or organize a larger food buying club.<<<
Excellent advise.
I buy in bulk at Walton Feed, and save money, even after shipping as prices are high here for food.

Good thread, thanks for pinging me.
Good thread ping!
Here’s another one.
Thanks D6. I put this link on my home page so I can find it again.
Your welcome. It’s puzzling, when I bumped this thread and another thread on Gerald Celente, it didn’t appear on Free Republic.
I wonder why?
