Yes, I remember the popcorn at Sears - they say smells and scents can bring back memories - I can remember that scent very clearly.
Our Sears had popcorn. I was never a big chocolate eater so Mom would get my brothers the chocolate (which they then fight over) and I get the popcorn.
I stopped buying Hershey’s products when they started to send some of their processing plants to Mexico.
Swiss chocolate is still the best on the market.
I see. I grew up in the DC area and they had a lot of chocolate and assorted nuts. I’ve never seen any group enjoy popcorn as much as midwesterners so the popcorn might not have been a big seller in DC.
my favorite chocolate these days is Moser-Roth (Privat Chocolatiers) Made in Germany.
Believe it or not you can buy it at Aldi’s
...and chock full of melamine!
Maple Bun Bars
I’ve been baking my own chocolate chip cookies for years now.
One whole pound bag of Nestle choco chips per batch.
Sometimes, half a bag of Nestle choco chips, and half a bag of their butterscotch nuggets.
The grandkids love them.
I think the Belgians held out when the EU regs kicked in ... same story as Hershey...substituting vegetable fat for cocoa butter.
For imported chocolate ... Neuhaus is the best .... but not easy to find unless you live in a big metro area.
Mmmmm....Sears popcorn, cashews and Christmas shopping. Nice memories here, too.
I like Milka and Ritter’s myself. Ritter’s dark chocolate and marzipan bars are sold in the drug stores in my area.
I love Toblerone, but haven’t had it for awhile. Can’t find it here.
I guess you can order almost any kind of chocolate online.
I’ll have to look for the Belgian brands.
This is a locate favorite. But they were eminent domained to make way for Granger’s Moat.

You (Clemenza) are Dark Chocolate
You live your life with intensity, always going full force.
You push yourself (and others) to the limit... you want more than you can handle.
An extreme person, you challenge and inspire the world!
Sadly, most of Hershey’s products, now have the flavor and texture of plastic, IMHO.
Tatt
WOW! Neuhaus is expensive!
