Ok, now with the game set up and underway, it will be an interesting battle for the White House this fall. With Senator Obama picking Washington insider of 36 years, Joe Biden as his VP nominee, they feel that they are the party of change and to save America.
On the other side of the fence, the presumptive Republican nominee pulls a rabbit out of his hat, and chooses Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. Tough when it comes to reform and ethics in Juneau, she has been thrust into the spotlight after two years of serving as Governor of the largest state in the Union.
Personally, I believe this is what is going to happen leading up to the first VP debate showdown:
Governor Palin will be criticized by the MSM as not taking care of her children properly while running as the GOP VP nominee. She will be slammed by the Obama-Biden campaign and the rest of the Democratic Party as being inexperienced on foreign affairs. This will instigate anger amongst women across the country, leading up to the debates.
Governor Palin has been underestimated throughout her career of 13 years, but colleagues can attest that she is "extremely tenacious" and has no quit in her.
My warning to Senator Biden when it comes time to debate Sarah Palin: you better just bring everything you have, because this woman will take you to school and run circles around you.
any thoughts or comments are welcome. My first post on here so I hope it’s good reading. Thanks!
Biden, Obama’s “ATTACK DOG”, just got neutered....
I’m not saying it won’t be interesting, but nobody cares about vice-presidential deabtes. Heck, nobody cares much about presidential debates, either. Did the recent question-and-answer town hall thing sway the polls, even though McCain clearly won? Not by much.
Reagan didn’t need his famous microphone moment to prove that he was a great communicator. If you are eloquent enough to convey your ideas to the masses, you don’t need a debate to prove it. Bush can convey a message when he has to, but he stumbled through all his debates. Did the electorate care? No.
By the way, my favorite vice-presidential debate was between Cheney and Liberman. It made me wish they were running.
I want to see more of Sarah Palin. But so far, she seems like she’s tough enough to take on Joe Biden.
I think it can backfire big time if they start criticizing her as a neglectful mother. I sure would advise them to stick to the issues.
Welcome to Free Republic!
I think you’re spot on; Palin is a very tough opponent who just may surprise a few people come debate time. With any luck, though, she’ll make a big enough splash at the convention at the convention that the debate will just be the icing on the cake.
Yes, the debate will be Palin/What’s-his-name; but the real comparison throughout this campaign is likely to be Palin/Michelle. Another slam-dunk. People in America are tired of grumpy haters, ready for some upbeat patriots.
I say lets just skip the debates and have Sarah and Obama do a little one on one on the basketball court.
In a debate Biden's worst enemy will be Biden.
Joe Biden on finding out Sarah Palin was McCain’s choice:
“Oh $hit”
Yeah, I was watching Fox News today and they were saying if Joe Biden hits her hard like Rick Lazio did against Hillary Clinton in the NY senate debate, that it could turn a lot of women who would have voted for Lazio otherwise to vote for Hillary or not vote at all.
Personally, I don’t think Biden will be able to contain himself, and if he does, this chick won’t be afraid to hit back harder.
I think she might slam dunk it on him!
BUMP
Biden better wear a muzzle (a la Hannibal the Cannibal)and an iron jock strap,so he doesn’t lose ‘em.
The lady is governor of a large , rich state and draws enough salary to pay for child care plus has three daughters who can amply take care of a baby.
Her kids looked like to me that they are very mature for their ages.
I just don't get the stoopidity of feminazi liberals or any one saying a working mother doesn't take care of her children.
Her husband is a stay at home dad and from what I can see she takes the baby to just about every event she attends.
I wished all mothers could be like her, especially in Obama’s South Chicago hangouts.
