As for Fitzgerald calling for Dick Cheney to testify in open court, it only reveals that his indictment of Libby is totally political, and he's looking for a way to entrap the Veep.

I heard the Phishing Theory mentioned yesterday on FNC and mentioned it here last night. Peach verified others had discussed it earlier.

Phishing seems to be a favorite tactic of Fitzgerald, according to those in the know.

The Executive Privledge blood bath will be the one to watch. It will make the USSC fight look like a Sunday School Picnic.

The good thing about volunteering like this, is that your daughter may be starting out with other motives, but my guess is she'll get so much emotional benefit out of the joy of helping those less fortunate than she is, that her own enjoyment will be secondary.

I agree that the battle is going to be huge. We will need to get current on just how many times Clinton introduced executive privilege.

Have fun quilting.

A new cafe opened in an art gallery here in town. It's called Cafe Monet. So we get food AND lovely art to look at. I'm taking mom there this week for lunch.

I don't think Fitzgerald was even going to indict Libby, because there was no real cause. Then, he gets a few calls from the good folks at the DNC about a future job on the federal bench being on the line if he doesn't play ball, and next thing you know, he's making up charges virtually out of thin air.

The RATS and MSM won't be satisfied until they extract their pound of flesh from this administration, even if it's on trumped up charges.

Excellent synopsis of decisions Chairman. Why can't the MSM do more of this and less pontificating? Thank you very much for these!

While I was willing to give the President the benefit of the doubt and at least let Miers have her hearings, I think Alito is an excellent choice and I'm far more secure than I was with Miers.

Now, if Ginsberg would step down, Bush could nominate JRB and Right thinking could RULE THE WORLD! (insert evil laugh here)

Good morning. Another beautiful day in paradise.

Now, for the Gang of Seven in the Senate--we're watching. Harry Reid hates this guy. This is well worth the Nuclear Option.

"Let's get ready to RRRRRUMBLE!!!"

"Scalito," I like that.

Thank you Mr. President.

Ya' know, I think Alito has been Bush's pick all along. I believe that Miers was a smokescreen, a nominee to fill the time until the indictments were handed down. Then, when that news is beginning to build, Miers withdraws and in a few days before attention turns back to the indictments but with sufficient time for them to become "old news" Bush names the guy he wants all along. Shrewd, very shrewd.

OK, go ahead and laugh.

And to other Protestants,

Happy Reformation Day!

IMO, this day was pivotal in the history of the Western Civilization if not the entire world.

IG....I remember your post a few days back when you suggested the President nominate a true conservative and "cram it down the RATS throats". Bob Bekel and Dingy Harry are doing their Rumplestilskin dance this morning. I love it!!HA! HA!

Toby: you will be glad you made the choice to panel.

Below is my family/friends note from yesterday:

Hi all: I changed all the clocks yesterday and lived through the daylight hours on standard time so this morning, I woke at my usual 0500. I wanted to be awake at that hour because I knew WAR OF THE WORLDS with Orson Wells was going to be played. Well......that was the last of my peaceful early morning!! I heard the tell tale sounds of a Norway rat in my attic! I had one up there in December of 2003 and it ate through the wires in our weather station and it took me several hours to rewire it. So, I got the step ladder out and got up in the attic to put the electronic pest control unit up there until I could buy ONE BITE to spread up there. Apparently the sound of the electronic unit does a good job because it scurried away.

It was a beautiful sunny morning to drive to church. Afterwards, I went into Rosenberg's hardware and stocked up on ONE BITE and while I was in the KILLING AISLE, I bought stuff to kill ants (I see them occasionally) spiders (I see them WAY to often) and weed killer. I told the lady at checkout that I was a woman on a mission. People in line began to tell their personal Norway rat tales - shudder! In the 26 years we have lived here, this is only the 2nd time we have had them.

When I got home, I got back up in the attic and threw ONE BITE cubes all over up there and hope it does the trick - I will keep you all posted on my varmint killing spree.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow so I raked leaves (again) vacuumed the insides of both cars, cleaned the ashes out of the wood stove, chopped and stacked some kindling and have a fire ready to start if it gets chilly.

Anne sent me home with leftovers from last nights feast so I don't need to cook. Tomorrow is going to be a long day, but we will all make it. Laurie and I will spend the evening together. Larry was like a rock star in our family - there is a huge void where he used to be. I feel he is still near me - I talk to him all the time and I "sense" his answers to me....sounds nuts, but it is what keeps me going.

Fitzgerald....hock-SPIT!!

I was afraid I'd be sickened by him, and he's certainly risen to the challenge.

There will be a special place in hell for rogue partisan prosecutors. Somebody ought to remind Fitz, Runny Earle, Schmucker, Swimmer and Bug-eyes Pelosi that what goes around comes around.

Good morning, going to post and run since I must get busy with real work. I spent the last hour printing out some pictures we've taken and writing to friends, neighbors and my in-laws.

I hope you also remember my strategery discussion last Friday, wherein I noted the GOP Senator types have been put into a rhetorical box with the Meirs effort.

All in all, I think the President understands the game well.

OK, go ahead and laugh.

No laughter from me. The First lady said the same thing last week. She called the strategery, "Positively Rovian."

It WAS NOT me who made the statement requesting a true Conservative. I am MOST interested in a STRICT Consititutionalist. I am sick and tired of Judges Legislating from the Bench.
