Tonights Sci-Fi Listing:
7/6 - Firefly: Showing repeats and showing the previews for the movie Serentiy..
8/7 - Stargate Atlantis: Special 2 hour season finale. Atlantis has much improved... Ford is gone, the ship awesome, so far I give Atlantis a B..
10/9 - Battlestar Galactica: Pegasus.. The Battlestar Pegasus appears.. Well Battlestar Galatica started off slow, but it is getting better.. I give it a B

how did they find out that #6 on Pegasus was a Cylon? Gee... just a guess (it should be obvious): Her spine glowed?
Oh yea, great cliff hanger, got the two BS's fighting each other. Why didn't they just launch the nukes and be done with it?

B5 had better female characters I think, though in many ways it was a very manly show. And yet, the strongest character in the whole B5 series was a woman - Delenn, and she did it without resorting to cigars, brawling or ever tossing around a single "frac". Imagine that!

That's the difference between good writing, and poor writing. Good imagination, and poor re-imaging.

The only question that I had throughout the episode is how did they find out that #6 on Pegasus was a Cylon?I haven't watched the ep yet, but I knew this was trouble when I heard about it on Moore's podcast.
The entire show would literally unravel if they gave Pegasus a method for detecting Cylons. Not only does it eliminate any sleeper element, it unmasks Baltar.

But Michelle Forbes (looking GOOD, btw) as Admiral Nella Cain?! Admiral?! Cain ALSO is a woman? Ro Laren makes good? Again...I'll hold my nose, and give it a shot...but they are REALLY pushing the P.C. button hard here! Well, instead of Cain being a real S.O.B., he's got a major case of P.M.S.

I like Atlantis.. My major issue with Atlantis is that it is too international.. We should be the ones that running Atlantis.. Not some goofy international committee...

Would you consider Cally to be a strong character? How about Dualla? Or even hot blonde Cylon, who to be honest has surprised me with her acting skills?
Galactica is about as un-PC as you can get, and the latest episode only proves it.

I didn't have a problem with Michelle Forbes except she was too dang young to be an admiral. I mean Adama is supposed to be mid 50's? And he is only a commander. Nothing wrong with Michelle's acting, I just wish they had given her some grey!

The current Sci-Fi shows is not PC. Espcially when they use nuclear weapons.. I have no problem with the new Battlestar Galatica.

I recieved the impression that this all happened very quickly, and that Cain gave the new government little thought, thus the disparaging "The secretary of education?" remark to Adama. She seemed to push her rank from the get go, and like I said, this seemed like a short time frame. Therefore Roslin firing Cain would have been an empty gesture.

That's my guess - is that Cain would not have recognized the President's authority - not to mention the possibility that Adama didn't want to establish a precedent that the President can make military command decisions.
