A 24-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday in connection with a deadly crash on Interstate 5 near Albany, police said.
Judy M. Clemmer of Albany was booked into the Linn County Jail, accused of first-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and driving under the influence of intoxicants, police said.
About 8:45 p.m. Aug. 4, a Ford Explorer that Clemmer was driving on I-5 south of Albany rear-ended a Chevrolet pickup operated by Mark A. Lasley, 35, of Salem, police said. The pickup caught fire after it was pushed into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig. Lasley died at the scene.
Not meaning to be too dour, just want to remind everyone to be careful.
If you drink and drive and kill someone, you should be elligible for the death penalty, plain and simple.
as far as I'm concerned it meets the definition of first degree murder.
but then some people say I'm a hard ass...
