Congressman Waltz (FL) just told Stu Varney, that he was briefed and told balloons briefly flew over TX & FL during Trump Admin.
He said that there is speculation that the Pentagon didn’t tell Trump because they were afraid his reaction would be too provocative. He wants to hear what Gen. Mattis has to say.
This whole episode demonstrates the absolute ineptitude of the White Basement Jihad Junta.

The Trump security officials should accept the offer for a “briefing” immediately. Demand dates and duration of occurence, size of the balloons, locations detected, dates the balloons were “detected” and how.
Step 2: Compare that with what the Gang of Eight’s Marco Rubio was told and when.

If they claim they withheld intelligence information, that is treasonous or at least seditious.
If they claim it was ‘overlooked’ or ‘insignificant’, then that is incompetence.

Many countries throughout the world use them to include the US. There is a constant surveillance going all the time from things in the sky over all those same countries.
Spy balloons have some advantages over satellites. They are cheap to deploy, fly relatively close to their targets, and can continuously monitor a location for longer stints. And they are expendable. Biden finally shot the latest one down over the ocean and you can be sure there won’t be anything to sweep up that means anything.
The US has been watched for a number of generations. While you didn’t hear of balloons being used for this, and called weather balloons, the public went on their merry way fat and sassy while the government played a game of hide and seek and never really told the public they were ants under the spyglass.
Well the government has been telling a lot over the last 25 to 30 years about US failure and how the big bad wolf is at the door. There is a point of calling Trump’s mother names by saying he had balloon fly overs. Little secret? So did every president back to FDR and before. And Uncle Sugar kept it quiet to keep the customer fat and sassy so they would be the proud sons and daughters to get re-elected. And all of them do it. This is why the word secret was invented.
