Vermont is the state that sent Bernie Sanders to the U.S. Senate.
Sanders once said that it was a good thing when people have to wait in line for food.
These are Sanderss exact words:
Its funny, sometimes American journalists talk about how bad a country is, cause people are lining up for food. Thats a good thing! In other countries people dont line up for food: the rich get the food and the poor starve to death.
You can see and hear Sanders saying those words in this video:

Sanders also once said the following:
You dont necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants or of 18 different pairs of sneakers
Now, allegedly in response to COVID-19, Vermont has ordered Target, Wal-Mart, and other stores to stop selling “non-essential” items.
And Vermont considers vegetable seeds to be among these “non-essential” items.
The website from the government of Vermont states: (original link, archived link)
“the ability to browse for seeds and purchase them in person doesnt outweigh the risk of spreading the virus”
So the same state that elected a U.S. Senator who said that it’s a “good thing” when people have to wait in line for food, is now ordering stores to stop selling vegetable seeds because they are “non-essential.”
In addition, Vermont has also declared clothing to be “non-essential,” and has ordered Target, Wal-Mart, and other stores to stop selling it.
So the same state that elected a U.S. Senator who said that Americans have too many choices when it comes to shoes, has also banned the sale of all types of clothing.
Every bernie-bot should be forced relocated to a walled in Vermont.
Get the few normal ones out.
You don’t get your spring seeds, you dont have a years worth of food.
We are ruled by fools bent on destruction.
The sad news....I mixed up my tomato plants. Oh my....yes....they all look the same until they get flowers.
Where l am its illegal to go into the home and garden section of Home Depot thanks to Half Whit. These rat bastards are having a ball.
Buying clothes was also deemed non-essential as I recall.
Trying to wreck the economy and our ability to fend for ourselves. Evil. Pure evil.
Then they should all go out wearing nothing but a face mask.
If recent stories such as this don’t make you ponder about the future of our republic, then nothing will.
They have curtailed travel and socializing. They have derailed and wrecked the great economy we had. They are telling us we can’t attend church even inside your own car.
They probably will make the vaccine for this a mandatory event. If you do not comply you will not be allowed to do many of the essential things that you had in the past had taken for granted. Like grocery shopping. So now in Vermont you can’t buy seeds to grow your own food.
Can't tell you how many Spinach omlets I ate last year....soooo good.
If closing the country every few months is the new standard then growing your own food may be the new imperative to ensure you have access to it, particularly if you don’t have the means to purchase food or have a handicap.
Me, I don’t have time to wait in line.
Wanted a bottle of Balvenie 14 year Carribean and gave up after visiting 5 Bevmo.
They have ridiculous lines to get in and they only let so many in at a time.
Gave up, went to the liquor store.
No line and picked a bottle of Oban...It’ll do.
Go to Ace Hardware...
Fortunately for the people of Vermont, they live next to NH.
MANY Vermonters go over to NH for shopping. There’s also NY on the other side and as far as I know Cuomo has not yet gone this far.
And Vermont is not a wide state. It’s not far in any direction to outside the state.
I just hope the people of Vermont remember this come election time, but they are very kooky up there. Generally nice people. But kooky.
who the hell do they think they are
Stalinists at heart.
Well, now that seeds and clothing are not longer essential, at least we’ll all be thin when we’re running around naked.
The “leaders” in many states are getting in touch with their inner fascist. Thug dopes.
So has Gretchen Whitmer. The restrictions today were SO over the top. Restrictions in place is not stopping the increase of cases at all.
The city of my birth has made wearing masks mandatory, closed houses of worship, but has liquor stores and pot shops open. All exercises of power in some form or another. Frighten the masses, keep them on dope and booze, send them money and they won’t rise up.
Well unlike the statistical purists at the CDC and FDA, we have to make prudent decisions based on the information we have. So does the POTUS and so do the governors.
Technically you are right, social distancing hasn’t stopped the rise in new cases. But it probably has slowed it down. And I think its main purpose would be to prevent the health care system from becoming overwhelmed - and I believe it has succeeded in that goal. But there is no “proof” that it has. It’s just kind of obvious. We didn’t need Covid19 to know that if you have the flu, quarantine yourself; and stay away from people that have the flu, especially if you have some underlying condition. This is what we call ‘common knowledge’.
But it’s not as common as you might think. We have these doctors on TV swearing that ‘social distancing’ is working. But they cannot prove that at all. And in the next breath they will say that hydroxychloroquine regimens are “unproven”; when we have so much data very suggestive of the fact that it does work. Just not “proven” in the way they want it to be proven. But they take it on faith that social distancing works. It’s nonsensical.
Worse, social distancing prolongs the disease. All the people who avoided it for 6-10 weeks are at risk of catching it in the future. So we have some truly horrible people saying things like “we can’t open the country for 18 months or until we get a vaccine” which is simply absurd. An immunity to disease is better than a vaccine. And if HQC works to slow the virus and allow the body to develop an immunity, there is no reason - indeed I’d say it is inhumane - to deny it to people in replace of something else that is “unproven”.
