For the record, 41 was reacting to the price of a gallon of milk rather being surprised by the scanner. Hell. I’m in the super almost daily and have no idea of that cost. Nor should a President.

That's not my point.

My point is that Bush's supposed ignorance of a supermarket barcode scanner was treated as an outrage, as evidence that he was out of touch with common people.

A-O-C's supposed ignorance of ordinary kitchen accessories is apparently taken as "cute" and "endearing."
