I don't whether to laugh or cry about this article. The 29-year old congresswoman from NY who is telling us we need to completely overhaul the US Economy is stumped by a garbage disposal..... Actually I think it's funny but indicative of how ridiculous she really is...

She's acting like she grew up in some run-down tenement in the Bronx where they probably don't have garbage disposals. But she didn't grow up there.

For the record, 41 was reacting to the price of a gallon of milk rather being surprised by the scanner. Hell. I’m in the super almost daily and have no idea of that cost. Nor should a President.

I heard she was at the FAX machine yesterday too. She asked how they get that big piece of paper to go through the wire.
Until recently many communities in NYS did not allow garbage disposal units. So in that regard she could be telling truth. However no building super would fail to show a new resident, especially a member of Congress,the ins and outs of the apartment.
In the 40 years I lived in NYC, I never saw a garbage disposal in an apt. or a private house. She’s still a moron, of course.
Now I have my answer as to why I first saw a garbage disposal in Alabama 4 months ago!
One way intelligence is measured is by the quantity general knowledge. AOC does not know things that a 29 year old college graduate should know. She is pathetically stupid.
I hate to agree with her but I am 78 and I don’t recall ever having seen one.
Up untill 1997 they were illegal in NY. Apts with older plumbing still ban them. I’ve never been in a NY home that had one.

Disposals were illegal in the city until recently. Apartment house owners are naturally averse to go through the trouble and expense of installing them in existing buildings and since it is NOT an item of high demand, new construction sees no need for installation.
