I imagine he’s talking about how they leak fake news, the media prints it with a shred of effort to verify it, and then they use those “media reports” to justify spying on people.
Some of them are complicit and may need to lawyer-up if any classified material was leaked to them.
Since the IG’s scope is DOJ employees there could be some hints since their practice is to notify those who are named before the reports is made public.
Media needs to go down hard. Totally corrupt. Not even slightly interested in telling the Truth to the American people.

As a general rule FBI personnel aren’t supposed to leak a anything, classified or not. If one does leak something in return for compensation (aka a “bribe”), that’s bribery for which both the briber and bribee can be prosecuted, as in the Lori Laughlin case. That really puts a lot of the MSM people, and their employers, on the spot.
I am sure media paid Justice and Justice paid media, in one or nany ways. They were co-conspirators.

The issue is the way the FBI/CIA was leaking information to the media for the sole purpose of getting it published in the public domain ... and then using the published information as the legal grounds for getting FISA warrants.
That's the crux of this story, folks. When you hear about how the DOJ redacts reports "to protect sources and methods," they're not doing this to shield the identities of undercover agents or secret methods of surveillance. They're doing it to keep the public from finding out that media outlets like CNN, NBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post, etc. are FBI/CIA assets that were used to justify FISA surveillance on U.S. citizens.
We keep hearing a few bad apples at the top of FBI well just maybe its through the entire organization. So many sports teams and tons of tickets.

We’ll see. We know that in the past Andrew Weisman used info he planted in the media to obtain warrants in cases prior to this one. That’s in the public record. We also know that reports of some fictitious meetings somewhere were used to justify the FISA warrant on Carter Page. Connecting the dots, that fake info was planted by the investigators so they could get a warrant. That is also a serious criminal offense, faking the justification for a warrant to a court.
