This prayer request is for a good (the best) friend and co-worker.
Despite regular eye exams, my friend Frank found out he has glaucoma in both eyes very early this year. He has been yanked around, in my opinion, by both insurance company and doctors. The medications have not worked very well, and the first surgery did very little to stem the preesure in his eyes.
As a result, he has lost permanently much of his vision in the last few months.
One of his last hopes was a doctor at a very well respected university out of state. Today this Dr. told my friend that he was legally blind and cannot drive any more, (he has to drive 80+ miles round trip to work). He will be starting my friend on a different medication combo, but for now, no surgery.
My friend is a wonderful man and a devout Christian. He is kind and patient, and very giving, and has many wonderful qualities. Despite many trials in his life, he remains good humored and displays no noticeable self pity.
Please join me in praying that our Lord, God and Savior, in his infinite mercy and wisdom, reach out and touch Frank with his healing hand and helps my friend in this difficult time.

I am also a glaucoma potential...my doctor says it is controllable with meds...I am curious why that did not work for your friend. Praying.

I don’t really have an explanation for why this has played out this way. He has been on several meds and also has had laser surgery on both eyes.
It has all come on so fast, and despite all efforts, still not under control.
I guess this is just one more good example of why we cannot put all our faith in modern medicine.
