I'm off to London tomorrow morning!
Me | 05/25/18 | Simon Green

Posted on 05/25/2018 6:48:36 PM PDT by Simon Green

West End musicals ("Chess" and "Young Frankenstein")! Imperial War Museum! London Bridge food tour! The Churchill War Rooms!

The only annoying part is taking all day to get there. I know, First World Problems.

I'll only be there for a week. Any last minute suggestions?

Glad I went to London years ago. Wouldn’t want to go there now.

Yeah don’t go. Be ready for the crime and the muggings. Don’t go out at night. England has become a sh#t hole. I wanted to go once but not now.

Fish and chips any time you want them! Grab a pint (their servers might actually know it is a unit of measure and not just a ‘glass’ - you might even get an ‘imperial pint’ (20 oz) if you are lucky) Have a great time exploring God’s green earth!

I’ve been to the UK a few time, and London is awesome...to visit. Not to stay. Effing pizza costs $20. You’ll find out dude.

Tower of London man. All the torture stuff will scare the crap out of you. Not as scary as the last 8 years under Obamatard but close..

Don’t use the sidewalks. That’s where muzzies like to drive their vehicles.

You’re late for the Wedding.

Hope you’re bringing them a nice Gift.

Don’t forget the vindaloos, the UK seems to be famous for its vindaloos.

If you have never been be very careful crossing the street since driving is on the opposite side. You’ll be amazed how habituated one is when one is used to the way it is done in America. Someone told me when there a number of Americans are killed each year because out of habit they looked the wrong way before crossing. Also in some parts of London the double decker buses really go fast compared to what I expected at least.

if you’re going British Airways and are traveling coach, check out the BA “World Traveler Plus” class of service. You get a seat and space that are essentially what you get in domestic U.S first class for about 80% more than you’d pay for coach. I’ve done it twice and it’s well worth the additional cost.

Thames Speedboat, which launches from near the London Eye.

Borough Market is a great place for lunch - wander around and try a little of everything.

Westminster Abbey is way more interesting than St. Paul’s.

Victoria & Albert Museum.

Lots of crossings have “Look Right” painted right on the crossing——in HUGE letters.

Original bus tour, leave from Piccadilly Circus.

Do the London Eye.

Tower of London, queue for the Crown Jewels.

Changing of the guard, but don’t go to the palace. Watch the drill from
Birdcage Walk at the barracks.

If you like Indian, go to Veeraswamey in Regent Street.

Buy an Oyster Card for the tube.

If you land at LHR take the Heathrow Express to Paddington.

Fish and chips in the Earls Court Road - more Australians there than in Sydney.

River ferry to a Greenwich - Royal Observatory and Naval College.

St. Paul’s

Palace of Westminster audio tour.

A man who is tired of London is tired of life.

You should go to the “Speakers Corner”

The Speakers’ Corner is an area where open-air public speaking, debate, and discussion are allowed.

Great place to get arrested for saying the wrong things.

You could be famous.

Get arrested.

Start a Campaign.

A Go fund me page.

Get Trump to demand your release.

I mean, if you’re not doing anything else.

Yep. I almost got killed in London by a motorcycle driving between stopped lanes of traffic because i was looking the wrong way whilst jaywaliking. I tell my children - look both ways twice - in some countries they side they drive on is inconclusive from observation.

Not sure if you’d have an ale. But near the Tower of London is Tiger Pub.

It was my dad’s favorite pub when he was flying B-17’s back in the day.

Their basement was filled with petrified animals like badgers and geese and deer....and they have signature books that date back centuries.

I toasted my dad when I was there a while back.

It is the kind of place that can transport you back to 1944.

Worth a stop.
