McCain has always been a spiteful human being. I really think he relied not on any base political philosophy, but just his “war hero” record and where he thought were his best chances for getting elected when he chose to first run as a Republican; which was mostly because his friends with influence in Arizona were Republicans. I think it was a “where’s my network” move more than any underlying political philosophy.

That is why he showed so little Conservative foundations outside of defense policy, and he had no problem voting Liberal when he felt like it. The media loved him for it (as a dig at the GOP), and considered him a “maverick”. To me he was always a figure with too little philosophical roots, just playing the field all the time. I think all of that is why he had no real strong message that came across as defining what he believed when her ran against Obama. He hardly addressed the economy and appeared to just be saying - vote for me, I’m John McCain, American war hero. I think America thought he had worn out that line.

I have a relative who claims he once, in Arizona, in a road-rage behavior, intentionally nearly ran her off the road. True or not (I was not there), but when I asked her why her opinion of McCain was so violently negative, she told me about the road rage event. Maybe Fusion GPS will pick up this post on their Internet sweep, try to locate my relative, and offer, for a price, to sell the information to Trump. That would be poetic justice.

Did you miss that they all, since FDR kicked the Constitution to the curb, have taken the same oath and yet few of them have ever moved to repeal any lawlessness once advanced even though Eisenhower could have save the country from its fate with little disruption rather than rubber stampping FDR’s Arbitrary government?
