This is the first time I've thought the GOP will lose the House in the midterms. If Trump signs this #omnibus bill, we're through. I suspect Trump does not realize how many people have tolerated his antics solely because he was doing conservative things. He's about to find out.

I get the feeling that Washington believes the current unrest is just another Tea Party they can ignore, ridicule, co-opt, or shut down.

This is what I said this afternoon -

"Nobody’s going to believe Trump’s ‘Drain the Swamp’ next time around.

Yes, we can blame the house republicans, but ....."

And sure enough, another FReeper replied:

"Trump can rightly point out that Spending is Congress’ responsibility and that the people are just getting it from their re(s)presentatives. Trump’s job is to implement the spending priorities of the People as delineated by Congress."

Less than 2 weeks before the next FReepathon begins.

We need to finish this one first.

Come on, FReepers, this ends TONIGHT!

We sent him there to put a stop to this crap.

He is continuing this crap.

If he signs this, he becomes part of the problem and not part of the solution.

It’s wholly unacceptable.

I expect that should he sign it, he will be the first president removed from office.

The people want a Wall. And no funding for Planned Parenthood. Where are our priorities at?

GOP has figured out how to play rope-a-dope and run out the clock on Trump. And they are doing it.

The author of this article assumes that the GOP doesn’t mean to destroy Trump.

He couldn’t be more wrong.

Their actions are deliberate. They want to lose. They want the house to go to Impeachment.

Where’s the commercial showing a toddler happily playing suddenly being demanded to pay its thousands of dollars share of the national debt ? When the toddler breaks into screaming tears ?

PA-18 showed beyond any doubt the Republicans will lose the house in the mid terms. The messaging inthat race, by the entire GOP ecosphere, was completely wrong. If they plan on using that message in the fall they will lose the house.

The omnibus bill is irrevelevant.

The same ones have been threatening since Trump was elected: ‘If he does xyz, I’m through with him!’

They have been waiting and wanting that one thing that gives them an excuse to bail out. The trouble is, they have nowhere else to go. What other Pubbie from the 2016 primaries would have accomplished 10% of what Trump has accomplished? None.

But those same ones will vote for the same ole Republicans over and over — and hope for a different result.

Of course they are. The GOP wants to raise money being in the minority and how they'll promise to "stop" the Democrats, with other Big Conservative, Inc. groups like Club for Growth doing the same.

All of this is a scam folks. It's all designed to employ entrenched consultants and their wingmen in a never-ending cycle of horse-race politics. Already they're talking about 2020 and who's gonna be ahead? WHICH SENATE SEAT IS VULNERABLE! SAME BAT TIME!

Let the Dems have Congress I don't care. Trump literally sacrificed his name, his fortune, and his family to try and save this country and the Stupid Party won't help him.

"Trump can rightly point out that Spending is Congress’ responsibility and that the people are just getting it from their re(s)presentatives. Trump’s job is to implement the spending priorities of the People as delineated by Congress."

Neither Trump nor any other president is obliged to sign any bill into law that he believes is not in the best interests of the country. That's why he has a veto pen. If a president were obliged to rubber stamp anything that cam across his desk, then the whole idea of separation of powers would be meaningless.

This is a monumental defeat of everyone who voted MAGA masterminded by Obama, Clinton, Soros, Swamp and the “MVP” GOP! The next step will be to attack at midterm and come up with the votes and momentum to finally get their enemy all along. Obama and Clinton are toasting it all.

Agree. trump can veto it and leave the military hanging, or sign it. He has no line item veto. the repukes are intensionally throwing the 2018 elections, so they are not accountable for Trump’s agenda not being passed. I wish Ryan and McCONnel would ESAD.
