I'm very familiar with Maine, my parents live there, but hubs has never been. We will be flying in to Portland. We had planned to drive up near Bangor to do the SK tour but in light of his recent vile comments, I cancelled.

Anywhere in Maine is nice except little Mogadishu, Lewiston Maine.
Acadia National Park is a must see in the Summer time. Anywhere near the coast is a tourist destination.

How much time do you have? Bar harbour/acadia, boothbay harbor is many peoples favorite. Must go to lobster pounds....every day. If you have the time go to Portsmouth nh which is right on border. It is a really neat place. Others know more, but maine is great place.

Take a day sail on a schooner. Nothing like seeing the Maine coast from the ocean.
Camden Maine is just stunning, perfect to explore for one day.
Boardwalks connect all the piers and docks around the harbor, it's just stunning from every angle.

If you like seafood, be sure to check out a roadside Lobster Pound. Wear a shirt you can roll the sleeves up on and just go in face first caveman style.

Follow Benedict Arnold’s 1775-1776 Canadian invasion route.
