I get the feeling that LS desperately wants to cast a Mueller has a good guy..not buying it.
An investigator can not investigate himself... So Mueller will need to step away from this investigation if there is even a hint that Uranium One and the Obama administration will become part of the overall probe.
Cover up...
For everyone concerned about cover-up and destruction of evidence, I would just point out that the DoJ is still totally controlled by Obama’s people. If there is an ongoing cover-up — highly probable — then any incriminating evidence has *already* been destroyed, and it will not have been because of this request by Mueller.
Also, Mueller is not making the request to find out what evidence the DoJ might have on him. He already knows what’s there! He was FBI Director until just a few years ago; and, in the interim, his best buddy Comey has kept him in the loop.
I don’t know what’s behind this request, if true; but it’s not to destroy evidence or to find out what’s there.
Just some housekeeping. He wants all of the incriminating stuff so he can say that he reviewed it and there was nothing there and, as a result, he is sealing them due to their sensitive contents on privileged information.
