Economist Magazine: Surging Economy Under Trump Only Due to 'Fortunate Timing'
Newsbusters ^ | November 20, 2017 | P.J. Gladnick

The American economy is doing great as reflected in the fact that blue collar wages are surging. However, please don't give President Donald Trump any credit for this. He is merely the passive recipient of "fortunate timing."

That is the theme of the November 14 story in The Economist that can't even get around to giving Trump even begrudging credit for the economic growth that has taken place since he entered office. This is probably due to the extreme antipathy demonstrated by The Economist towards Trump as was illustrated by their cover featuring him throwing a Molotov cocktail soon after his inauguration. As we shall see, Trump's policies mattered little in what The Economist portrays as just a grand coincidence:

The Economist - another in a long line of Keynesian Lying Leftist outlets.

Fugeddabouddit.

The Delusional Lying Left would collectively fall over dead if we had a bonafide and sustained economic boom. Seeing them fall over dead would be almost as fun as the boom itself.

But seriously, what is REALLY needed for sustained economic growth is not only cutting taxes but cutting the federal government by A LOT: try 80% - which is about the portion that is unconstitutional.

In the beginning Obama told the world that ISIS was nothing to be concerned about, the JV team. Under Obama’s shepherding ISIS grew into a worldwide terror operation. At its zenith Obama said he was doing all he could but it would take years to try and eradicate ISIS.

Trump was elected and he literally wiped out ISIS in a mere 8 months, mostly due to his willingness to use our military to play hardball. Obama set the military ROE akin to touch football.

We’ve gone from “Bush’s fault” when Obama’s ideas failed, to “fortunate circumstances” when good things happen under Trump.

Yep - Obama slaved away 18 hours a day for 8 years to Make America Great Again.

Then, just as things began to turn around, the Russians send Trump swooping in to take the credit!!

Really, the timing is so perfect for this kind of protective leftist pap story to their god. Bill Clinton’s presidency had nothing to do with the “birth” of the internet nor the demise of the USSR, but his presidency derived much of its alleged glory from those events.

The Economist is full on leftist; it’s unreadable.

Obama’s “Arab Spring” (A.K.A. ISIS) was no accident. I basically watched it happen. Every time Obama took a side in the Middle East, he was supporting al Qaeda or the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Economist is right.

We elected Trump at just the right time.

I remember when I didn’t understand economics. Of course I didn’t write for a financial publication.

The Economist is essentially the leftist EU economy newsletter. The left shift started way back in the Clinton admin. Their ‘solutions’ involve powerful central government intervention, entirely at odds with healthy free-market forces.

Stopped reading The Economist when Norman McCrae left the magazine. Have never regreted it, but quite often felt vindicated - like now.

Faith that the government is not going to raise taxes, regulate you out of business or saddle you with mandates has a lot to do with the uptick in commerce.

Another reason I stopped reading the Economist.
It was a fine, pro free enterprise publication at one time.

However, the next recession, predictable as a sunrise (save for the timing), will be Trumps fault for sure.

Obama spent eight years in our White House and never had fortunate timing. President Trump steps up as a real President and gets it every quarter. The man is just lucky.

Timing always plays a big role in how the economy is doing, regardless of whoever is president.

It's called a "business cycle" and while government can really ruin things sometimes, it has a life of its own.

"Timing always plays a big role in how the economy is doing, regardless of whoever is president."

In this case the timing for a recovery was "whenever Obama stops screwing with the economy."

Never has America had a President that so hated private enterprise and free markets as Obama.

If this were May or even June I might say there’s a possibility this is true but with 10 months under his belt; this is Trump’s economy.

You can bet they would be blaming him if it were going south.
