Hillary had initially entitled her book: "What Happened? I lost b/c Putin didn't like me, climate change, an outdated electoral college, Bernie Sanders thought he was better than me, Bill's a nincompoop, Democrats went broke, Trump violated my space, I helped Haiti......."

She was just getting warmed up when her publisher informed her they couldn't fit all that on the cover.

But enough about Jane Pauley.

Let us never forget that ol’ Jane, who traded on her looks to get the Today gig, kicked off something fierce when Deborah Norville, another female who traded on her looks to get a Today (news) gig, was brought on board and enjoyed overnight popularity. MEOW!

In a way, the petty bitchiness marked the end of the morning shows as the networks opted for beta males and cleverly (they thought) divided the work between enough women to ensure nobody would get too big for their britches.

So tomorrow expect her to do a repeat at the Orphah Windrey and The View. Slime Times will cover this from beginning to end, and we will have snowflakes melting in the wrong places. GOVERN... Mr. Trump. Don’t be distracted by a hussy.

I recall reading some years back an article on NRO following Bob Keeshan’s (Captain Kangaroo) passing and in it, the author discussed how back in the late 1950s and on through the ‘60s, the basic choices for morning TV involved either the Captain on CBS or the Today show on NBC. The Today show (with Hugh Downs, if my memory serves me correctly) featured news with features about Broadway, the arts, lifestyle, etc. Would not be surprised that that show was a far superior product way back then before ones like Jane or Deborah or Katie and others like them were brought on.

Any thoughts on this (as this was a bit before my time, even though I watched the Captain as a kid back in the 1970s)?

I think you will win the Most Obscure Reference Award. I doubt anyone under fifty will get it.

Her "deplorables" remark brought back bad memories of "The Clinton
Solidarity Act" when she blamed Bill's BJ on a vast right wing conspiracy.

Cool as a cucumber, lying Hillary went on network TV all decked out in
virginal pearls, denying everything, blaming Billy's B/J on "an invention of
a VRWC."

NOTE: Back when Pres Bill got lewinskied, the cunning Clintons first took a poll. The poll told them Billy had to stall for time, to lie for as long as he possibly could, before coming clean.......

Bill later admitted to it, was impeached, and disbarred.
He had to pay Paula Jones 800,000 dollars.

Knock off wire wheels and long silk scarf...poetic justice.

Mary Surrat type event...judicial justice.

Either works for me, as long as it’s televised.

Besides that, her litany of reality-separated excuses is more reminiscent of Capt. Queeg on the witness stand.

Actually, "Norma" Desmond was the name of Carol Burnett's parody of Nora Desmond.
