As anyone with an ex-wife knows, what is said about one (even one as loathsome as this arschloch), you must take these comments with several grains of salt.

This is a bit of a big deal.

This will take 100s of millions off the box office of films he makes, and studios will soon realize it.

He basically f’ed up. Should have had silence in the divorce agreement.

No it won’t. Nobody cares. And he doesn’t have anything in the pipe, so it will have all blown over.

From the wikipedia:

Upcoming projects[edit]
On October 20, 2016, Whedon revealed that he is currently writing a new project that is a historical fiction/horror film set during World War II.[206][207] By March 2017, Whedon was in negotiations to direct, write, and produce Batgirl set in the DC Extended Universe.[208] In May 2017, Whedon took over post-production duties for Justice League, which included writing and directing additional photography for the film.[209]

Also, along with his half-brother Jed, is big in the nerd/geek community.

Here's one of his Web works...

Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

I only watch it because I have an old-gamer guy crush on Felicia Day. :)

so far the only rumor I read involved Eliza Dushku. And rumor explains “Dollhouse”. But Eliza was too young at the time. I saw her in Feb 1999. But someone should have kept her from the open bar. She recently admitted to alcohol & substance problems.
Guessing game can begin. But from 1998 to 2003 certainly were plenty of young ladies who were BTVS fans meeting Joss.

I think he is the guy Sheldon Cooper always rails against on The Big Bang Theory.

He may be a Liberal, but his best series, Firefly, was very, very conservative... the movie, Serenity, even more so.

After the over-reaching government ruins an entire planet with their good intentions (the government researcher cries "People need to know, we meant it for the best", just before one of their creation, the Reavers, kills her), the heroes discover the secret, and try to broadcast it to the galaxy. Capt Mal Reynolds says, "Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave."

And a conversation between the government Operative (an assassin), and our hero...

The Operative: It's not my place to ask. I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: So me and mine gotta lay down and die... so you can live in your better world?
The Operative: I'm not going to live there. There's no place for me there... any more than there is for you. Malcolm... I'm a monster. What I do is evil. I have no illusions about it, but it must be done.

"Half of writing history is hiding the truth."

Teacher (at a school, obviously beholden to the evil overbearing government, the Alliance: "The Central Planets formed the Alliance. Ruled by an interplanetary parliament, the Alliance was a beacon of civilization. The savage outer planets were not so enlightened and refused Alliance control. The war was devastating, but the Alliance's victory over the Independents ensured a safer universe. And now everyone can enjoy the comfort and enlightenment of our civilization."

I just can’t reconcile the libertarian themes of Firefly with the uber-liberal director of today - other than that he may have developed an intense need for the approval of his peers.

At this point I don’t care if it’s true or the bitter venom of an ex. Whedon is an insufferable pr##k and I hope this destroys him.

Justice League is Snyder’s project, he just took over. And Batgirl isn’t even in pre-production, at least 2 years out, this will all be forgotten by then.

“...I only watch it because I have an old-gamer guy crush on Felicia Day. ...” (kanawa, post 26)

“He may be a Liberal, but his best series, Firefly, was very, very conservative... the movie, Serenity, even more so....” (Teacher317, post 29)

“I just can’t reconcile the libertarian themes of Firefly with the uber-liberal director of today ...” (Mr. Jeeves, post 30)

Felicia Day is eminently crushworthy. True when she guest-starred in the final season of Buffy, true now. I could say that about every female star and guest star. The beloved spouse says the same, of the male stars and guest stars.

Many thanks to Teacher317 for reminding everyone about Firefly. Every quote was cogent.

Joss Whedon may be a revolting Leftist, but he’s still a genius-level talent. He did have the knack of recruiting top-flight actresses and actors, he wrote compelling material for them, and he got the absolute best out of them on camera.

I confess to being captivated by Firefly & Serenity; likewise Buffy and Angel. I could watch & listen to the lead players of all three series read pages from a telephone book and be happy for hours.

The forum is urged not to judge talent nor creativity through any lens of ideological purity. That’s what the Left does: authors like David Horowitz & Peter Collier were ballyhooed as the topmost as long as they toed the New Left line, but when they began voicing second thoughts in print, they became talentless, and unworthy, as if by magic. In all Left publications, that is.

I’d like to think that people on the Right are in possession of greater intellectual honesty.
