I know that is certainly not justification for running down protesters, but it does present some evidence that the driver could use in his defense.
Overall, this whole protest was obviously staged to be a cockfight. It's really a miracle that there weren't more deaths and serious injuries in Charlottesville last weekend.
He is driving down a largely empty street, who cares what was behind him. We KNOW the protest was ahead of him, because he plowed into it. Nothing forced him to drive into the crowd except his mental illness and racism.

The stupid girl who was killed was NOT St. Heather of Charlottesville, she was blocking traffic with the Antifa crowd and smashing a car.

If you zoom in on the car, look through the rear window at the windshield, you can see that the windshield is ALREADY smashed. It shows up in another photo as well.
We know that this is before the impact as the car that gets rear ended is not visible - It is obscured by pedestrians. So the smashed windshield could NOT have been caused by hitting the pedestrians.

I know you are absolutely sure, based on the video evidence you have seen, that this kid decided to ram people into the rear of another car because he was a nazi murderer, but what if....
Someone had leveled a gun at this kid’s head and told him to get out of the car, while another ‘protester’ was on the passenger side beating on the window ?

The back window was broken by a guy who had what I think was rebar, not a flag pole.
There was a girl who jumped on the rear left side but slid to the right. Not sure if she was run over or not.

There were people chasing the car long before he hit anyone. I wonder what they wanted to do?
There were three cars in that mess. There’s another view that shows a woman on the hood of the white car the Dodge hit. The driver of the Dodge could not tell the road was blocked with the idiots in the street. The woman hit by the white car looked to be the size of the woman that died.
Did you see the picture of the Dodge with the brake lights on before the crash?
One of the facts unstated on this thread is that the street was NOT barricaded or blocked in any fashion by the “highly effective” LEO’a. OF course, they were just following orders from Fast Terry and his buddy the elitist C-ville Mayor.
Stated another way, a family with Mom and Dad in front and 4 kids below the age of 10 in a minivan could have made a turn and found themselves under attack on this street.
Of course, locally-recorded unstreamed video of an aerial view of the days activities was available, just get that from the VA State Police operating the helicopter. Or not.
