Beyond that, consider what Sessions did last week in Las Vegas:

Electric Graffiti,

I would normally love to discuss this Trump issue more with you. Fellow Freepers often have different viewpoints, and different perspectives. Sometimes I even learn something new here!

But I do have this one rule. I will not accept insults, and I will not trade insults. I left all that behind when I graduated the 9th grade.

So, bye.

I’ve wondered the same thing but given Sessions’ really strong conservative positions, I’ve rejected the notion that he is part of the coup.

That said, he could be comprised via threats to his family, etc.

Most likely is Sessions is simply too nice and maybe a bit too old to put up his dukes and fight. However, I dont think anyone will press charges against Clinton.

“Hire Sheriff David Clarke as AG....He IS a bad ass.....”

Hell yes! Good thinking.

I like him, but I’m not sure that he has the background/education to be an effective AG.

I think you’re right on that...I was kinda joking when I said hire him as AG...

I like him also...He’d be a great hands-on federal cop....

I hear you. I’d rather have an intelligent, honest, patriotic citizen in that spot than a graduate of a law school who is unable to learn on his feet.

No reflection on Sessions, but as a very unlikely person once said: “Life moves pretty fast”.

Just imagine for a moment Eric Holder or Loretta Lynch recusing themselves for an investigation of the Bambi Team.

The Republicans consider politics a gentlemen’s game and think that if they play by gentlemen’s rules the opposition will reciprocate. The definition of mental illness, as we know, is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. The Republicans are Little Leaguers when it comes to politics. The Democrats play with brass knuckles while the GOP plays with kid gloves.

The GOP is flummoxed by a president who uses the Democrat playbook.

I want him not recusing himself when it is unwarranted and detrimental, and when no Democrat would do so in like innocuous circumstances.

He has assisted the evil Establishment in crippling this administration and its agenda - as intended.

He is either incompetent or complicit.

Therefore: Absolutely YES!!!

Jeff Sessions recused himself because he is following the dictates of CFR 45.2 which states that DOJ employees may not:

“participate in a criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution, or who would be directly affected by the outcome.”

That would seem pretty weak since Comey stated under oath that Trump was not under investigation.

Comey denies Trump under investigation while he was the FBI Director.

I’m fairly certain Mr. Sessions will resign within a year; maybe even before this year is done.

A bigger problem is getting another AG confirmed. They practically had to move heaven and earth to get Sessions confirmed due to the obstructionist dems.

"...a good and honorable man."

Who is apparently no match for the shark toothed, criminal class of leftist elites, who are staging a coup against our President at this very moment.

Sessions is not going to do as the author suggests, and put Mueller's witch hunt on a firm deadline, in order to exert some kind of control over it.

I think in his mind, his public recusal forbids him from laying a glove on that pack of jackals, which means the President's fate is at their mercy.

Sessions does not work with an audience. Everything he does is behind the scenes until it is ready for disposition. You want him pounding his fist and screaming into a mike. Ridiculous!

Can you give us one bit of tangible evidence that Sessions is doing anything to stop, or even curtail Mueller's witch hunt?

No, you can't, but there's prima facie evidence that he's not: his recusal.

... then hire the toughest SOB in the country to fire...prosecute...

Who do you think would fit the bill? Whoever that person would be, they would need the support and encouragement of the President and be allowed to 'go after liberal criminals in all strata of society and at all levels.'

Would the President support and encourage the prosecution and jailing of criminal elites who are serving or have served in: government, media, education, organizations, business etc? I have my doubts. Washington's way is to thrown a few underlings under the bus but higher up elites are off limits. Republicans hold the Senate, House and Presidency and still there is no will to put people like the Clintons, Obama, Holder, Koskinen .... in jail.

Imo, he’s been in on this special counsel coup from the get-go.

I'm not willing to go that far, but I will say that through his inaction, Sessions has tacitly aided and abetted the enemies of our President.

I’m hoping someone will talk Sessions into releasing the cost to date to the taxpayer of the Special Council.

The fact that you already assume that someone needs to talk Sessions into doing something to push back against this witch hunt, says that you sense that he's frozen in place, and doesn't have the grit to fight back.

I think that's an accurate assumption on your part.

I agree with you re: your two points 1 & 2. However, he sometimes does give me a moments pause on course correction. As has been said on this thread, lots of his choices/selections have not turned out well. So hopefully he’s learning and learning fast. Because otherwise the Senate will be lost in the mid-terms and then everything will grind to a halt until 2020.

I think he’s smart too (still) but I wonder why he didn’t get in a room with people and say - ok, we’re newbies here. We’ve got to get this transition off the ground and running and we’ve got to get good poeple in here. It’s like that didn’t happen. Or the people he asked that of were his family. That’s what gets me too. Good business people don’t make good political advisors. Kushner isn’t great on Israel just because he’s a Jew. But I digress.....
