Higher war casualties in key swing states may have swung November’s presidential election away from Hillary Clinton, a new study suggests.
The study, published last month, found a relationship between states with high numbers of war casualties and an increase in Republican support in the 2016 presidential election.
Boston University political science professor Douglas Kriner and University of Minnesota law professor Francis Shen authored the study and wrote, “Trump’s ability to connect with voters in communities exhausted by more than fifteen years of war may have been critically important to his narrow electoral victory.”
Three swing states — Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan — all went to Trump by thin margins. They also all had a median number of casualties statewide, with about 25 casualties per million residents.
The authors wrote their findings reveal that had the casualty rate been slightly lower in those three key states — say, closer to the rate in neighboring New York, with about 15 deaths per million — the states would have flipped and instead gone to Clinton, which would have given her the White House.....

Most Democrats could mentally block these unpleasant facts because of the many years of practice they have had of ignoring Clinton scandals but others finally succumbed to Clinton Fatigue and the truth a little truth made it over the MSM wall and infiltrated their conscious mind.
Trump offered a change to the business as usual political hack that us focus groups, political handlers and double speak to get elected.
Hillary’s playing hide and seek with the press didn’t help her as much as her handlers hoped either. Hillary demonstrated for history that in the age of the 24 hour a day news coverage that a presidential candidate can not have two campaign stops a month and hope to get elected.
That being said, one could also make the assumption "Hillary would have won if she went after states that were more Patriotic", but instead, she chose states like CA and MA, which are not patriotic and hate America. Then again, democrats stopped going after the patriotic vote at least 8 years ago.

This does not make my list. 1. There is no indication that the authors are Hillary surrogates. 2. The study is fatally flawed, but the error appears to be innocent or narrowly political (anti-war, rather than anti-Trump), rather than Trump-bashing. In fact, since supporting our military is a good surrogate for supporting America’s Constitution and America’s borders, the military deaths are really a measure of regional support for Trump’s campaign promises - a lurking variable. As much as I would enjoy adding this excuse to the mix, I don’t think it meets the criteria, so the old list stands:

There are many terrible reasons for President Trump’s victory, but there are two things that were not a factor. First, Hillary was the perfect candidate; nothing she did harmed her candidacy in any way. Second, President Trump was the worst candidate imaginable; nothing he did helped his candidacy at all, except with racists, sexists, bigots, and the rest of the basket of deplorables.
Frankly Scarlett, I don’t give a damn, why or how she lost, the fact she did, makes us for just a few moments, and maybe they will be enough, the luckiest nation on the face of the earth.
The left can’t accept that they are wrong, and that their world view is flawed. They always find blame elsewhere, not within themselves and their ideology. Just like the leftists that have destroyed Venezuela’s economy, leaving its citizens poor and starving.
