years ago someone asked me how come I was center right republican rather then center left democrat. my answer was that the extreme right did not scare m as much as the extreme left. because of the rights belief in the rule of law most conservatives would never harm others. I then told the person the left does not believe in laws but in doing what they feel is right and all you have to do is look at the sixties and the actions of a radicalized left know they are dangerous they are.
True. The history of lefty terrorism in America is long. The history of conservative terrorism is non-existent.
When leftist radicals rose up in Spain in 1936 in opposition to the military coup against the elected leftist government, that government feared arming them because it knew it could never control them. The government relented when it realized the coup would quickly succeed because nobody else would defend the government; those groups quickly made the government irrelevant. The armed thugs couldn’t be controlled, and within a year it was so bad that one group (the communists) massacred another (the anarchists) that were fighting on the same side. Leftists wouldn’t accept orders, were undisciplined, and while the war dragged on for an additional two years it was just a slow process of losing.
They are sounding the alarm, all right. They are alarmed that people are getting increasingly fed up with Leftist violence, and the blow-back is building.
Too funny, you have listed ABC as stating right-wing extremism is on the rise, and Fox news stating left-wing extremism is on the rise. Can both be right? I say most likely, yes.
