There are many, hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of millenials who work in corporations that come in contact with "material non-public information" (MNPI) on a daily basis. They are trained and educated on what is MNPI and the penalties for disclosing or trading on MNPI. I cannot recall any recent big story about little Joe getting arrested for disclosing MNPI...nobody saying "he was a nice boy....he used to cut the grass."

Yet it always seems like those in academe or government can't keep a lid on it. Further, when they get caught, there is a Greek Chorus nearby making up all sorts of excuses. It must be something in the water...

I don't doubt millenials do stupid things, though a brief perusal of the SEC's recent Administrative Actions turned up mostly people in their 40s. Again, I was speaking about BIG crimes, like those committed by Bradley Manning or Winner. I don't recall seeing millenials getting torched for dealings in major MNPI scandals. Maybe government or the academy is a magnet for people who are too cavalier with this info.
