A financial analyst who correctly forecasted the election of President Donald Trump now believes far-right candidate Marine Le Pen will emerge victorious in France.
"Le Pen's momentum is a slow-moving reaction against the men of Davos -- as we have seen with Brexit and Trump -- but markets don’t want to believe it," Charles Gave told Bloomberg News.
Gave, founder of Hong-Kong based GaveKal Research, cautioned investors that the financial markets are underestimating the likelihood of Le Pen winning.
France will hold its first round of elections on Sunday, followed by a runoff between the top two vote-getters on May 7.
On Fox Business Network today, "The Blaze" host Lawrence Jones discussed the prospect of a Le Pen victory, calling her "the Donald Trump of France."(continued)

I hope I'm wrong. France needs a strong leader who respects France's historic place in history and who understands what it means to be French. Before there is no more French France. Most in France have no idea.
I hope she wins, but hopes have been raised often about a possible win by the right in Europe and it still hasn’t happened in one of the major, Western European nations.
They have their first vote with umpteen parties and the conservative candidate might make the runoff, but then it becomes much more difficult to win in a two person race.
Maybe that will change on Sunday.

Shes pretty much definitely making the runoff but she has never won a head to head poll so it would seem the odds are against her. I can see her winning because her followers are the most loyal. In that regard it will be much like Trump. Just depends on turnout against her.

Agreed - Trump had a “ceiling”, remember? IF they do it, it will renew momentum for our cause that was lost in the Netherlands. If not, I would call it the lights going out all across Europe.
Trumps floor in reality wasn’t much lower than his ceiling. In short his support was solid.
Anybody catch Brian Williams apologizing for chiding President Trump on calling the latest shooting (of police) in Paris a terrorist attack “before all the facts were in”? Or maybe just a simple admission that POTUS was right to call it correctly?
