Target triggered a nationwide boycott last year with a single blog post — and it turns out the message was as big of a shock to the company's CEO as it was to some shoppers.
The blog post, published in April 2016, publicized a policy that said transgender customers were welcome to use the bathroom or fitting room that matched their gender identity.
"Everyone deserves to feel like they belong," the post said. "And you'll always be accepted, respected and welcomed at Target."
Target CEO Brian Cornell never approved the post and found out about it only after it was published, according to The Wall Street Journal.
He later told colleagues that he wouldn't have approved the decision to "flaunt" the policy and that the backlash was "self-inflicted," The Journal reported.
The boycott cost the company millions in lost sales and added expenses. Shopper traffic and same-store sales started sliding for the first time in years after the blog post, and the company was forced to spend $20 million installing single-occupancy bathrooms in all its stores to give critics of the policy more privacy.
Critics of the policy said it opened the door for sexual predators to victimize women and children inside the retailer's bathrooms, and more than 1.4 million people signed a pledge to stop shopping at Target unless it reversed the policy.
Sales fell nearly 6% in the three quarters after the post compared with the same period last year, and same-store sales have dropped every quarter since the post....

I wonder if the woman who put out that statement for Target is still around?
Wow, who would have thought that attempting to gather the business of less than 3% of the population while pissing off 35% would be a bad business decision?
And who would have thought that doubling down on a bad business decision would also be a bad business decision?

Don’t let this article fool you. It was CEO Brian Cornell’s policy that allowed perverts into Targets bathrooms. Cornell is a LGBT activist who is now trying to slightly walk back his position.

I think 3% was the old number of gays in America but since the social engineering of Hollyweird putting gay sex on every family or otherwise tv show; the mellenials now claim 20% of them are gay.
I find these numbers telling. I can believe less than 3% of the population was born with a chromosomal defect which causes them to be attracted to the same sex but anything more than that are people who simply choose than alternative (deviant) lifestyle for one reason or another. Why do some people become Goths, or hipsters, or any number of lifestyles? They choose it.
I still think it is pedophilia to show same sex porn on regular broadcast and cable tv. That porn could be as simple as two males or two females kissing. It targets the impressionable kids making them believe that lifestyle is normal instead of what it really is. It isn’t healthy.
That joke statement pretty much encapsulates the entire obama error. Same sex marriage and endangering women and girls by allowing men in the ladies room legally.
A gay couple has a Darwinian advantage because two people work full time without the need to raise a child. So gays become CEOs often from the work ethic.
The CEO then mistakes their success with the public customer’s approval of their lifestyle. The public is instead revulsed by poor lifestyle choices, pushed on to the product.
Moral of the story.
DO NOT BUY GAY STOCKS!
Do not buy stocks with gay CEOs. It has a higher likelyhood of failure. Especially when a hetero company, of relative success, is taken over to become a homo company.
I know of no study because it would be censored.
1% to 2% of males are hoosexual. Of those 2%, perhaps 3-4% are transvestites, “maybe” 1/2 of 1% are trying to change their sex.
