Trump Showed Himself to Be More Responsible Than the Politicians on Both Sides of the Aisle

Trump Wasn't Shown Up by the Health Care Rejection;

The simpletons who are gloating that the rejection of the Health Care Repeal and Replace legislation shows that Trump is no longer a master at the Art of the Deal seem to overlook one simple fact. Every deal with a chance of closing has to have two parties with open minds who WANT a deal. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton got things done because they had negotiating partners. The Democrats until the end refused to even consider a deal on the Trump-Ryan health care repeal and replace bill, which required the Republicans to come up with something close to unanimity in order to close the deal. It is easier to be unanimous against than in favor.

The reality is that Obamacare is/was just sign up central...assets, bank accounts, income, and simply an extension of Medicaid since 90% of the signups are old Medicaid folks. We knew who they were before. What we didn't know was how much we could drain from the middle class in the form of a penalty.

Obamacare is a farce.

We need to stop paying for individuals who are in this country illegally. Many people who could afford medical care receive subsidies. Yet they can afford their fancy cars and cable packages.

Medicaid also, under O-care includes able bodied people who are not working. While democrat policies drained jobs from US.

Children, disabled and vulnerable people will still be covered under Medicaid.

What about all the illegal so called children Obama took in? What about all the refugees Obama took in. Some countries do not accept immigrants that can not support themselves.

The madness that is bringing Europe’s destruction is what the global communists of both political parties in US have planned for America.

It isn’t as if the Trumpers weren’t warned. I voted for him in the general because I couldn’t see letting Hillary have any picks of Supreme Court justices.

I suppose I’ll be getting zotted again.

As long as people expect someone else to pay for all of their health care from the first dollar, we won’t be able to get a sane system.

Half of the people, give or take a few million illegal aliens and dead Chicagoans, voted for Hillary because they want to take what they perceive that the rest of us have.

Just a note...The Dakota Pipeline is moving oil NOW.

The Canadian pipeline is set to begin in June.

It means jobs and a safer transportation method.

here’s what i think:

The enemedia and RINO NeverTrump articles about this so-called “failure” are all delusional, and the best part is that they actually believe their own delusions.

I heard President Trump say a few weeks ago that his administration wouldn’t be addressing obamacare repeal and replace until late 2017 to early 2018 (basically when obamacare would be facing complete collapse), so I can’t wait to watch these fools freak the F out when his administration introduces a REAL repeal and replace bill 9 months from now.

As far as President Trump was concerned, RyanCare was nothing but a red herring intended to take Paul Ryan out of all future equations about everything.

RyanCare was a real abortion of a bill, written by the insurance companies who were the only ones who were going to benefit from its passage. The insurance companies clearly had this bill already in hand, and I feel certain had cut a deal with Paul Ryan BEFORE the election, fully expecting HILLARY CLINTON to be President, but believing that some Pub House votes would be needed to get the bill through the House.

RyanCare was actually SUPPOSED to have been HillaryCare, which was why the original RyanCare bill preserved 99.9% of obamacare, and it supposed to have been Hillary’s gift to the insurance companies, while simultaneously shafting Trump’s voters, who are the people who would have suffered the worse under HillaryCare/RyanCare, with even higher premiums than we pay now.

Ryan went ahead with HillaryCare anyway, thinking he could bulldoze the House into screwing their own constituencies even worse than happened with obamacare. If this had passed, Ryan also knew that it would totally sink Trump’s ship before four years was out, which was another major goal of Ryan’s, namely, to try to destroy President Trump before 2020.

The failure of Uniparty Care belongs solely to the entire Uniparty.

The sooner you shoot down a bad deal, the sooner you can start negotiating better one—and in this case we need a better deal than Rinocare or Obamacare, so I am glad to see this one go, and hope they get a better deal soon.

it isn't failure to the Uni-party, it's a victory. They have theirs and could give a damned about the rest of country. Unfortunately, the American people will eventually be left to drain the DC swamp. Those in DC know it thus their on going attempts to restrict firearms and under the obozo, shorting the ammo supply for the American consumer. BTW: Trump has yet to reinstate the legality of lead smelting in this country.

Remember Obamacare was passed and no one knew what was in it...and even Obama says it has problems....after 8 years???? And he did nothing.

There's no time limit. It is not working....we know that....

It's nothing more than a way to get money out of workers....for Medicaid folks.

It's really Medicaid II for ages 0-65.

Sorry, Trump’s immediate backing of Rinocare and his take it or leave it attitude makes him just as responsible.

What balderdash. Spoken like a true Trump-hater.

Donald Trump is the President, not the legislature. This failure is on Paul Ryan for writing such a crappy bill behind closed doors with the insurance industry's fingerprints all over it, not working to achieve consensus with the interests who were supposed to support it, and not making the legislation patient-centric and free-market oriented, all of which were promised during the campaign.

President Trump gave Ryan the benefit of the doubt, worked with the HFC—which kept moving the goal posts—and then expressed his willingness to walk away from the deal.

Once the HFC "moving goalposts" stunt became apparent, moderates in the GOP ("RINOs") began to bail out and the whole thing collapsed.

It's easy to identify the Trump-haters around here: anytime there's a rough spot, they can't contain their eagerness to cast knee-jerk aspersions towards Donald Trump, even though a fair-minded analysis of the facts reveals that he isn't responsible for this failure.

If this bill had passed, the President would have signed it—even though it might have doomed his Presidency, due to its failure to solve the pressing problem of skyrocketing premiums and deductibles. He negotiated in good faith with the HFC, but it became very apparent that they were not going to return the favor. That's why he mentioned having learned something about loyalty, IMHO.

So basically, according to the anti-Trump contingent here, President Trump is responsible for stopping what, for all intents and purposes, was "Obamacare lite". The ironic thing is that—even if the bill had passed—the same crowd would likely be blaming the President for passing "Obamacare lite", and would have called it "Trumpcare".

Furthermore, President Trump would have been totally at the mercy of Paul Ryan regarding this theoretical "Phase 3" that would have been done. Given GOPe Paul Ryan's well known dislike for the President, and his clear desire for the President to only serve one term, that scenario would have been even worse, IMHO.

Paul Ryan has been damaged far more severely than the President on this short-term setback, and it might very well cost him his position as Speaker.

I think we can all agree that such an outcome would certainly be a very positive side effect of this "failure".

I, for one, am glad that the President didn't sign a bill which, by 2018, would not have lowered premiums, thereby resulting in himself and the GOP Congress getting the blame for something which currently still rests squarely on the shoulders of the Democrats.

Every failure in government is not an apocalypse. Eventually, even Democrat voters will be screaming for something to be done about the imploding abomination known as Obamacare.

At that point, maybe the GOP will get something real done—something centered on patients' concerns instead of the insurance industry—something that adheres to free market principles and competition instead of government control—and the President will be in a position to say "we tried it your way, Mr. Speaker, so this time I get to set the parameters".

Speaker Ryan should have started with those parameters, but instead he let lobbyists craft another piece of garbage—a piece of garbage so bad that neither conservatives nor RINO's would vote for it...

I do not agree with your assessment that the HFC kept moving the goal posts, IF the house had completely repealed the DAMNED bill the HFC would have pretty much agreed to most anything to drive the costs down for Americans!!! This damned bill did NOTHING for the American people it did EVERYTHING for the insurance industry, the Chamber of Commerce, and K-street!!! Trump PROMISED us that this would NOT happen anymore because HE was not bought and paid for!!!! The HFC are the ONLY gatekeepers of the DAMNED government tentacles from taking over our lives in EVERY aspect!!! If Trump wants a FAIR FREE MARKET BILL, FORECE every DAMNED one of these legislators onto OCARE, they’ll come up with a bill lickety split MARK MY WORDS!!

I'm simply reflecting some of the reporting I've read. It does appear that the goalposts were moved at least once, after some initial concessions that the President gained on behalf of the HFC.

So DO your RESEARCH—and MAYBE stop SHOUTING every other DAMNED word!

By the way, I was torn on this, but reluctantly concluded that it was probably best for the President if this legislation failed. That doesn't mean it was necessarily best for the country, because it's at least theoretically possible that this legislation might have helped a few Americans somewhere down the line.

Notwithstanding that, I believe that Speaker Paul Ryan wants Trump to fail, and will sabotage the President any opportunity he gets. Paul Ryan probably saw this as a golden opportunity to hand "Trumpcare" around the President's neck, and help ensure that he only served one term.

But that doesn't automatically mean that the HFC behaved well, because the fact is, the dream bill of the HFC would never pass the full House...

Agreed there has to be compromise HOWEVER the bill needs to be ripped out by the roots FIRST!!! There NEEDS to be some sort of high risk pool for pre conditions, what I don’t know HOWEVER everyone has to have skin in the game AND illegals should NOT receive healthcare if they want healthcare they NEED to go home and get it!!!! There was a story not that long ago about a woman from Dominican Republic pregnant, found out she had Zica Virus baby infected, had a sister here on green card right before baby is born she jumps on a plane has baby here and WE the tax payers are NOW responsible for the lifetime of care that child will receive!!!! This kind of CRAP has to STOP!!! We have Vets that are suffering and WE are letting them live in the streets with NO HELP!!! These vets have been separated from their families on MULTIPLE deployments to HELL on earth, they come home and WE turn our backs on them YET take care of EVERY DAMNED illegal crossing our border!!! SHAMEFUL!!! YET this stinking bill had NOTHING to prevent the benefits for illegals, it WAS in the bill but retracted WHY???

Are you self-insured? Are you paying premiums? Do you need health care?

I can answer yes to all three and I can’t afford to pay any more for any less. Letting it crash and burn on the backs of people like me is not right.
***************
Yes , Yes and Yes ,, it takes about 25% of our families pretax income.. I am just as screwed as you.. I can’t afford to get sick or go to the doctor. It’s already crashing ,, what’s your problem ,, it doesn’t matter if you are $1 short or $10,000 short when you need care... we are already done. might as well go all the way...

LYIN RYAN is ONLY for his big donors, Chamber of Commerce, open borders Koch brothers, insurance industry and K-street attorneys, phase 3 of this damned bill goes AGAINST every damned one these organizations and THAT IS WHY we the people would NEVER see the light of day of phase 3!!! EVERYONE keep your eyes open for LYIN RYANS tax bill ALL his buddies will get the tax help BUT middle class not so much, he will claim deficit neutrality BLA, BLA, BLA !!!! The LYING BASTARD even funded PP in the last budget, however, when it comes to Trump’s VOTERS tax cuts he will have a BOAT LOAD of EXCUSES as to WHY we can’t afford them!!!! Trump needs to bring in his Treasury Sec. to create this bill RYAN needs to be on the side lines all factions of party WITH Trump for this legislation or he WILL BE screwed again!!!!

My “problem” is that so many that want to let it run don’t have much of a dog in the fight. Crashing already yes and I am in the same boat as you. Don’t see how I can pay one penny more or pay a fine and still get nothing.
