I guess she really is that dumb.
Firearms noise suppressors are to keep people from going deaf.
Criminals will get guns and suppressors, whether through legal or illegal means anyway.

I said they had such a system.
I didn’t say it did any good or worked to any useful degree.

Laser weapons make a sharp crack as the beam goes through the air. There is a loud noise from the target as well as the gases are expelled from the impact site.

I actually got some questions similar to these when I got my SilencerCo Osprey.
“What do you need a silencer for?”
“You can assassinate someone with that.”
etc....

Yeah, I educated them a bit.
“Even if my silencer were as quiet as a fly’s fart, there’s still that little thing called, I don’t know...A DEAD BODY laying there. Law enforcement can still solve a crime by looking into the background of the victim. It’s a suppressed firearm, NOT A PHASER SET TO DISINTEGRATE!”

She is RIGHT! Everyone knows that silencers on guns eliminates all sound of the gun being fired, removes markings from the bullets that otherwise would have been left on them if fired from an silenced gun, removes all evidence of ‘powder’ from the firer’s hands so that testing for that is of no use, and finally, causes the bullet to dematerialize after it hits the target, thus leaving no trace of ever having existed and thus no evidence that a person was shot.

This is why they are not used often in crimes. Hard to conceal, awkward, and very slow on the draw. Not sterling virtues for the street criminal.

Yeah, but you and I just can't wait for the soon-to-be uploaded YouTube video showing a little, gangbanger punk firing off a full magazine from his suppressed handgun, then jamming it right down the crotch of his pants.

Ummmm.... Sizzle?

But today you just read that the man was shot dead
By a gun that didn’t make any noise
But it wasn’t the bullet that laid him to rest was
The low spark of high-heeled boys.
