Lawmakers are inviting 'Dreamers,' Muslim-Americans and others to his joint address before Congress on Tuesday.
House Democrats are seizing on President Donald Trump’s first major speech to Congress Tuesday as an opportunity to troll the new president in prime time.
Many of the same Democrats who boycotted Trump’s inauguration are choosing not to skip his first address to Congress as president, instead opting to bring guests directly affected by the administration’s controversial policies on immigration and refugees and Republican attempts to repeal Obamacare.
“It’s my hope that gallery is going to look like America,” said Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.), who is leading an effort to have his colleagues bring diverse guests Tuesday and will be joined by Rhode Island Dr. Ehsun Mirza, a Muslim-American born in Pakistan. “It’s another reminder to the president that he’s not the arbiter of patriotism.”
The effort is designed to put a human face on Trump’s immigration and refugee policies — and perhaps steal a bit of the spotlight from the president's big speech. Though it's unlikely to resonate much beyond Tuesday night, members said doing something is better than nothing.

I had thought I read a few times here that Obama enacted a law that it was a federal offense to protest within a certain distance of Secret Service.
I think that’s how some in DC got stiff sentences.
Just pack the hall with an abundance of Secret Service and ICE.

That is the way I see it, too. A big, disrespectful hoopla will focus the ire on the Democrats who invited them.
I can't wait to watch. I hope they do their thing before an audience of millions. And I hope if they're dragged out of the speech chamber and are ticketed for resisting or whatever, that they are required to give up the names of who gave them the tickets to attend.

The American people ALREADY know of the scum and vermin that populate the Democrat Party., but you know what? Huge chunks of Americans STILL vote for them.
The illegals that show up to the Address need to be arrested on the spot for the sheer audacity of flaunting their law-breaking. Dems that disrupt the proceedings to excess should be thrown out by the sgt-at-arms.
Trump does not need to allow these low-lifes to embarrass him on national TV. He needs to continue to embarrass them in new and creative ways.

Why is this not considered a State of the Union address and only a speech to Congress?
The pro-enforcement republicans could easily fill their guest seats with ICE agents in raid jackets.
These are the people who insist out of the other side of their mouths that Trump must reach across the aisle in a spirit of bipartisanship. With honest media reporting it they’d never get away with it, but then we haven’t any of those.
This is very troubling and has the potential for chaos at the speech and who knows what else?

The sooner that this behavior is confronted and dealt with, the sooner things can get back to normal. In case people haven’t noticed it, this not boys being boys. It is a soft or running coup being waged against Donald,[in reality , us]. Which, unless stopped, will morph into an hard or actual coup later this year[probably in June or July]. These are cancers, which if not excised, will kill the host. The Trump supporters need to heed the warning signs. They ignore them at their peril. And one day rue the day they did.
Traditionally, a new president does not give a state of the union speech right after his inauguration. If a new president speaks to Congress this time of year, the idea is that he hasn’t been president long enough to address the state of the union.
Anyway that’s my understanding of why the media is jot calling this a state of the union. Obama similarly spoke to Congress in Feb 2009, and that also was not considered a state of the union, because he had just taken office in Jan 2009.
