There are some that intertwine the Pepe meme with Kek. But only some. Others enjoy Pepe simply for himself.
So mysterious you are. I’m familiar with the site you reference and as I said, I don’t see where you’re getting that the brief description of origin is incorrect. Incomplete I can see, but not incorrect.

Thanks for posting. This ties a lot of info up in one nice neat bundle. When I first found reddit & was totally confused, someone on FR told me about KEK & the video game World of Warcraft & then I found the Egyptian god tie-in myself while scrounging around. With KEK, Pepe & other “stuff”, it’s all very interesting and this may sound weird, but IMO, there’s too much coincidence to be merely coincidence (and I feel the same way about pizzagate/pedogate). :-)
I would’ve signed-up in ‘98, but Jim Robinson closed the window for signups in November for a while (if I recall correctly), due to an influx of trolls. So don’t let that ‘98 signup date intimidate you.
