His employees, maybe. Him, never. This is why he thinks he can shoot his mouth off.

The left is arrogance wrapped in ignorance. Horrible combination.

McDonald’s has senior coffee for 49 cents and they put in cream and sugar for you.

Starbucks will always be happy to sell you a $2 cup of coffee for $5.

Good one, FRiend Saltmeat.

McDonald’s has taken its share of hits over the years, but as things stand today, I have almost come to regard it as a sort of anti-Starbucks.

In other words, I am making a conservative statement by having my morning coffee at McDonald’s versus Starbucks or some other hip, trendy café.

On a more practical level, the McCafe beverages are all excellent and reasonably priced. Just watch your mailbox for coupons — mine arrived just this afternoon!

I went a few times several years ago when I was working and even then I couldn’t get over how expensive they were. I worked hard for that money and I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that for coffee.

From the EEOC website:

“The law makes it illegal for an employer or other covered entity to use an employment policy or practice that applies to everyone, regardless of national origin, if it has a negative impact on people of a certain national origin and is not job-related or necessary to the operation of the business.”

So by granting favorable treatment to refugees they create a negative impact on those of non refugee countries.

Also, under EEOC, Veterans are not a protected class.

However, the disabled are, which include disabled veterans.

Oops, pasted copied wrong para from eeoc site in post 108. Should be this:

“National origin discrimination involves treating people (applicants or employees) unfavorably because they are from a particular country or part of the world, because of ethnicity or accent, or because they appear to be of a certain ethnic background (even if they are not).”

So, again, non refugee countries are treated unfavorably.

Starbucks is not discriminating against people who are not Refugees, but have simply made a decision to include Refugees among the people they do hire.

Starbucks’ plan to hire Refugees is no different from their initiatives to hire Veterans and hire young Americans.

Now, if Starbucks enacts a policy that prohibits the hiring of American citizens, and restricts their hiring to only Refugees, you would have a point.

The law requires no disparate impact. It doesn’t have to be totally exclusive.

Starbucks is down again today 2/1/17. It had put in a double top on the weekly chart. If it goes below $50, then I will think the boycott is having an affect on their business. We’ll see. I never go there anyway. Too expensive and their coffee taste burnt to me.

Starbucks coffee tastes bitter/burnt. I never liked it. I presume Starbucks had no objections when B. Obama banned Iraqi refugees.
