” pay the black person who cuts your grass double what you might ordinarily pay.
Huh?
I’ve never even seen a black person cutting grass.

I have had a Black yard person for about 20 years. He cuts the grass, trims shrubs, rakes leaves, etc. He gives me a bill right before Christmas. He does a fantastic job and does most of the yards on my short street. I do not have to tell him what to do because he knows. Since my husband died in 2006, I do not know what I would do without him.
When I was in the army, soldiers were often assigned to grass cutting. The black soldiers absolutely hated it.
I wasn’t aware, but the sun would tan their skin darker (temporary), but there seems to be a social pecking order where being too black is not good.
The black person who cuts your grass with oregano is probably charging you double already.
We had a very nice black teenager in our neighborhood. His family life was terrible and his single mom wouldn’t let any of her six kids get jobs because it might impact her benefits. Amazing that he stayed out of trouble.
I paid him cash to mow our lawn and pick up trash in our neighborhood until they got evicted and moved away.
A white teenager cuts my grass. He’s a neighbor kid who goes around asking for work.
