Georgetown University professor and author Michael Eric Dyson says white people should keep an “individual reparations account” to make donations to black groups and atone for America’s history of slavery and racism.
Mr. Dyson was discussing his forthcoming book, “Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America,” with New York Times Magazine when he touched on a subject in his book that talks about white people making reparations on the local and individual level.
The Times’ Ana Marie Cox said Mr. Dyson suggested donating to the United Negro College Fund or paying “the black person who cuts your grass double what you might ordinarily pay.”
“Look, if it doesn’t cost you anything, you’re not really engaging in change; you’re engaging in convenience,” Mr. Dyson said. “You’re engaged in the overflow. I’m asking you to do stuff you wouldn’t ordinarily do. I’m asking you to think more seriously and strategically about why you possess what you possess....

I've traveled rather widely in the Third World,including Africa.I've seen *real* poverty,as has Haiti.I'd say that your $35 a month absolutely counts.

I have had a Black yard person for about 20 years. He cuts the grass, trims shrubs, rakes leaves, etc. He gives me a bill right before Christmas. He does a fantastic job and does most of the yards on my short street. I do not have to tell him what to do because he knows. Since my husband died in 2006, I do not know what I would do without him.
Neither I nor any member of my family, past or present, had anything to do with slavery. I feel NO responsibility for slavery and NO responsibility to pay reparations. I feel NO white guilt and I will NOT succumb to the ridiculous nonsense that the whole notion of reparations is. Shove it up your a$$.
Does this apply to the black families in New Orleans that owned slaves?

Parents pay $50,000 a year to send their child to Georgetown to hear this garbage?
The 'professor' probably doesn't know of the thousands of blacks who were slave owners and slave breeders.
He probably doesn't care about the millions of dollars being lost by small business owners because malls are no longer safe.

Change white to black in his book title and have a white person write it. See how long it takes for him and others to claim racism.

Your reparations money was spent by Barry Soetero and his tranny partner on their vacations to Hawaii, Martha’s Vinyard, and international travel.
Almost 100 million dollars he could have put in an IRA for the brothers.
When I was in the army, soldiers were often assigned to grass cutting. The black soldiers absolutely hated it.
I wasn’t aware, but the sun would tan their skin darker (temporary), but there seems to be a social pecking order where being too black is not good.
