Looking back, it would probably have been a good idea to split it into a few separate shots, but we were still immortal back then. It was definitely the largest mushroom cloud I’ve ever seen and the biggest blast wave, that’s for sure.
It was always fun watching the silent explosions and then waiting to hear them. Bigger is always better, and bored GIs come up with stupid ideas for fun.
