Real Clear Politics Explains “Why WikiLeaks Attack Fizzled”
Eagle Rising ^ | October 24, 2016 | Philip Hodges

Real Clear Politics posted an article about why WikiLeaks email attacks “fizzled.”

Writer Bill Scher downplayed the exposed machinations of the Clinton campaign, and even Hillary’s handsomely rewarded speeches before big banks and Wall Street. He explained how “WikiLeaks tried to take down a candidate with embarrassing private emails and failed.”

Scher wrote that the only thing “exposed” by the Podesta emails is the “grist of political life.” This is just the way things are. “It doesn’t make our politicians or our Democracy a sham,” he stated.

In fact, if we were to uncover the emails from the Ted Cruz campaign, or some other candidate, we’d find similar calculations, political maneuver plans, and discussions about how to spin certain things in interviews with the media. And Donald Trump’s internal campaign emails would be “in their own category of insanity,” according to Scher.

I don’t contest his premise that so far the WikiLeaks revelations have “fizzled.” But Scher missed a big point about why that’s happened. It’s not that the American public doesn’t care about the contents of the leaked emails. It’s that most people – particularly those of the Democratic persuasion – don’t care enough to even find out what’s in them.

Most people allow their opinions to be shaped by their media networks of choice. With the exception of Fox News, the national media isn’t covering the contents of the Podesta emails; the pay-to-play schemes revealed by them between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation; Hillary’s numerous paid speeches before big banks and financial institutions – that she claims to hate in public – that have until now been kept secret by the Clinton campaign; and the overall dirty politics that Americans have long grown weary over.

Most of the media is either downplaying the corruption, or pretending that there’s nothing there to report on, leading their viewers to believe that there’s just nothing to see, and that the real focus needs to be on the several unsubstantiated claims of women against Donald Trump. Remember, if the media doesn’t report on something, it doesn’t exist. And when they do report on something, it must be true.

One other thing. There’s no evidence that these emails were “stolen” or are the result of a hack. Nor is there evidence that Russia is behind it. That’s the Clinton narrative. If they can convince people that it’s “stolen” private information, and that Russia is deliberately interfering with the U.S. electoral process, then that makes Democrats’ case better that people shouldn’t be reading them. But it’s all conjecture.

The way WikiLeaks has always operated is by having sources leak information, documents, and emails to them. They don’t hire hackers to steal this information. It’s a refuge for whistleblowers. Liberals used to champion WikiLeaks for being a voice for exposing corruption in governments around the world. But now liberals hate WikiLeaks, because the organization has shown itself to be independent and non-partisan. They’re not on any political party’s team.

Does that mean that it must have not been the result of hackers? No. It just means that there’s no evidence to support that claim.

This is just an attempt to create a false reality by pretending the emperor is fully clothed, when in fact he’s stark naked.

The MSM no longer has that power. The alternative media now rules.

I am sure that Bill Scher thinks the wikiLeaks simply show politics as usual because Bill Scher is a Democrat, and corruption IS politics as usual. It’s projection. Since they are corrupt, they think everyone is corrupt. Everyone isn’t.

Unfortunately there are just TOO MANY scandals revealed in Wikileaks for the public’s short attention span.

Hitlary’s gang, unfortunately, got the drop on Trump with the fabricated female allegations and timed it perfectly following the embarrassing “locker room talk” 2005 video...

... Trump’s team should have hit Hitlary and her Rapist-sometime-husband hard and first;

... that they didn’t may wind up costing him the election ...

I hate to even say this, but Hitlary followed the Alinky script to a “T” (freeze-demonize-polarize) - or whatever the exact “formula” Alinsky prescribed for character assasination of an opponent...

... that, combined wit the the fact that an ever-increasing proportion of the electorate are under-educated, hand-held-out morons, may have doomed this country in 2016 ...

No sir. Trump’s timing is perfect. Hillary struck way too early.

You need to get onto either Twitter or Reddit.

The scandal did not fail at all. The MSM is simply in a massive circle-jerk.

And add to the Project Veritas, and the National Enquirer article...

If Hillary has to have Elizabeth Warren out rallying "Nasty Women for Hillary" they are not just scraping the bottom of the barrel; they're using a trowel to dig in the dirt *beneath* the barrel as well.

Social media is on top of this while the MSM is wishing it goes away.

This is the first election that pits social media vs. MSM. We shall see who wins.

Well... if the FBI cannot expose blatant in-your-face corruption and criminal activity, what makes anyone think that some guy holed up in a foreign embassy basement can do any better?

In Okeef’s 2nd video, he taped a guy proclaiming that you could F*** your mother in front of the government, and nothing would come of it.

Anyone who votes for Hillary must really like that aspect of our current administration.

Looks like it.

Zero "knock-out game" attacks too.

It'll all come back with a vengeance after the election.

How does something fail when it is still underway?

Anywho, mainstream media’s lack of coverage v. social media and new media saturation coverage. We will see what prevails but I think social media is like geologic movement, time and pressure. Even if Hillary wins her Presidency is damaged upon arrival.

You are right about the Wikileaks scandals; much of the public is brain dead and cannot process the overwhelming amount of information coming at them all at once. And that’s just for those who are even interested. Never mind the ones who won’t bother asking any questions because their minds were made up about Pickles Clinton eight years ago when Obozo “stole” the nomination from her. There is nothing she could do or say, past or present, that would change their minds about her. The lights are on, but no one’s home.

It may have gone down the mainstream media hole, but it made a big loud BANG! all across the country and she’s not getting away with anything.

What I am afraid of is that the blizzard of contradicting polls, and the MSM’s 24/7 non-stop assault on Trump, will provide cover to the Dems to steal the several crucial “swing” states like we know the Dems have done in the past (is 118% voter turn out for Obama in Philadelphia in 2012) ...

... cities like like Philadelphia are de facto “one-party states”, and unlike other countries (see the recent Austrian presidential election), the mere fact that obvious fraud is committed as in the example above does not give ANY recourse - there is no court that can order a re-run of the election (as should be done at least on a state by state basis when such blatant fraud is evident)
