Trump has vision.

Most people would call for a building like that to be demolished, and replaced with some bland black glass tower.

Trump saw the potential of this architectural jewel in the rough, and then developed it.

Trump is a builder, and I have a great respect for true builders and their vision.

Amen. Old buildings being restored make me very happy. He and his family should live there for the first six months while 1600 “airs out”.

As a New Yorker, this is the building I associate most with Trump. And the most with black glass towers. Unlike the DC hotel, he's responsible for its outward face. In fairness, it is a cool black glass tower, and it was pretty cutting-edge in its day. I'm not criticizing him, only the irony of your word choice.

I’m quite sure that building is a landmark, on the Natl Registry of historical buildings. They’ve tried over the years to make it work but it’s taken The Donald to make maximize what it is capable of being, just a magnificent building.

We keep downtown offices a few blocks away and I hope to take a walk over there one day to see what he’s done. Not that I can afford to stay there, or probably even have a drink in its restaurants or bard. But maybe I can just walk thru.
