No voter approval for debt which taxpayers are on the hook for means no accountability for elected politicians
The town of Apple Valley, California, deep in the heart of the Victor Valley of San Bernardino County, has a ballot initiative battle grappling with accountability for bond debt. But it’s gotten political with citizens claiming elected members of the Apple Valley Town Council have ceased making decisions in the best interests of their community.
Nearly 4,000 Apple Valley residents signed petitions to bring Measure V to the Nov. 8 ballot to require voter approval of any Town project of $10 million or more, including the Town Council’s attempt to take over the existing Liberty Utilities’ water system.

It’s the Antelope Valley.
There are many smaller California cities where the elected functionaries have ruined the finances of the community for decades with stupid salaries, law suits, bonds, pensions and the like. One that comes to mind is Half Moon Bay where the Mayor tried to keep a fellow from developing his property and then lost a huge suit for damages.

Apple Valley—which apparently got its name because it has no apple trees. Sort of like Bird’s Tail Rock, Mont., so-named because it does not look like a bird’s tail.
We are located just east of Victorville, which is just off the 15 Frwy, which runs from San Bernardino to Las Vegas.
The problem is the Town Counsel keeps getting re-elected. We need new blood... and an audit.

I just drove through the area the other day on the 395 through Adelanto etc...
It is the Victor Valley. Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley. Adelanto is our red-headed step-child. They’re even thinking about changing their name, as if that would help.

I always thought, wrongly it learn from this thread, that Victorville and Apple Valley were included in Antelope Valley.
