Well boys this machine gun shooting lady has us out gunned. This handy-dandy FAL 7.62×51 NATO is capable of firing full-auto, and it looks like a lot of fun, too. We see our shooter set down the gun with a grin, and it looks like she’d be more than happy to pick it up again any time. No word on how the target fared, but if it’s not turned into a block of swiss by now, it’s been seriously menaced. Guessing by that ecstatic grin, though, there’s probably not much left to whatever she was shooting at. Excellent shooting!

If your poor shoulder hurts shooting your deer rifle from recoil well face it this lady has you beat. She has you beat with full auto power too. See the video here.

In all fairness, most deer rifles weigh in under eight pounds. I bet that thing weighs twice that, at least. Still, fun to see. Wouldn’t mind having one if someone else would buy the ammo.

In this day and age who will charge into that gun? The ME is more for snipers it appears.

I’d rather have an AK with a milled receiver.

I have always wanted the Israeli FN FAL. Quite the durable weapon.

I have a DS Arms FAL and it is a great rifle. FAL’s were not know for being very usable at all in full auto however. Moderately accurate and extremely reliable they were/are a great main battle rifle in a great caliber.

“FAL’s were not know for being very usable at all in full auto however”

Exactly. I’ve had a FAL variant for decades now. Plenty accurate and extremely reliable with pretty much any ammo I’ve ever fed it. It was my primary rifle for quite some time, but as I’ve gotten older it’s not getting any lighter to lug around, especially with a kit of 20rd mags. That said, the reliability of the piston system is well worth the additional weight, but anymore I much prefer the same reliability with less weight of the HK MR556A1 which I can swap out with 2 other uppers, one in 300BLK for close and quiet, and the other in 6.5 Grendel to reach out as far as the FAL does, but obviously not with the same down range energy.

I may have to pull ‘The right arm of the free world’ out of the cabinet later this week and see if I can hit the 500yrd gongs with as much regularity as I used to. Kinda doubt I can do it with just the iron sights though, as another wonderful benefit of older age is eyesight that ain’t what it used to be, lol.

In all fairness, the FN FAL is a great battle rifle (7.62x51 NATO). However, it is a lousy light machine gun in its FALO configuration. The 20-round magazines are out of ammo too fast and the 30-rounders are too tall from the prone position and tend yo jam. There is no quick change barrel on the FAL rifle or FALO automatic rifle. For a support gun in the squad or section, you want a belt fed LMG or GPMG.

Recoil from an FAL is substantially less than recoil from your deer rifle bolt gun. That (semi)automatic action and recoil spring system matters, and it matters a lot.
