Hillary supporters becoming unglued.
self | 9/25/16 | self

I have friends from both sides of the aisle on FB. I generally ignore their political posts, especially during elections. But I have noticed a new trend in the past week or two. The lower Hillary is in the polls, the louder, the more derisive, and the more often they are posting about Trump and his supporters.

I don't think that we are even close to seeing the meltdown of Hillary's minions.

Please see the Hayek quote on my FR profile page. It’s the third one down, two paragraphs. He was a trained contemporaneous observer. And I’ll try to send you another good link or two on the general subject when I’m on my computer.

The Nazis and Italian Fascists were national socialists, the Soviets were international socialists. From the standpoint of someone who really believes in individual freedom there isn’t a nickel’s difference between the two.

Well, that took me all of 20 seconds... :)

20 SECONDS I JUST COULDN'T SPARE!!!!

Seriously, my fault was to include the (alleged) author and the (alleged) newspaper.

So it is a hoax. It did not appear in the New Yorker, nor was it written by Roy Kaplan.

I’ve been researching the difference between the two on the internet. The way I see it is Hitler took over the NDSP and kept the Nazi term rather than coming up with a new name.

Hitler was instrumental in writing the NSDAP party platform in 1920. Read it closely; much of it mirrors talking points of our modern Left here in the U.S.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_Program

Program of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party
http://avalon.law.yale.edu/imt/nsdappro.asp

There is nothing “right wing” in the American sense of the term about Hitler’s platform. The whole “Hitler was right wing” meme was a Big Lie that the International (Soviet and Soviet-leaning) Left came up with in the immediate post-WWII period in order to distance themselves from Hitler and the Nazis.

International (Soviet-leaning) Leftists outside the USSR had been allies of Hitler up until 1941. They followed the party line from Moscow, and Moscow was Hitler-friendly until the Germans invaded in 1941. You will recall the USSR secretly training the fledgling Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe in contravention of the Versailles Treaty, and the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact leading to the coordinated Nazi-Soviet Union dismemberment of Poland in 1939 (the USSR invaded from the East 16 days after the Germans invaded from the West).

The Big Lie that the Nazis are somehow “right wing” allowed that distancing. This argument is based on loud assertion, not facts.

Thanks, good read. I’ve read the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich when home schooled. Think I’ll give it another go. I struggled through Mein Kampf which was interesting.

I agree with your definition when it comes to the race component. However, NAZI is an abbreviation for National Socialist German Workers’ Party. They believed in state provided health care, agricultural price control, guaranteed pensions, conditional private property rights, a command economy, and a disdain for capitalism. Everything the libs of today believe in.

Thanks again. I read where Hitler was so enamored by Mussolini he designed his government around his since M was fascist. I think Hitler combined the best of the two.

Hitler was all over the place. But he did make many interesting remarks:

“I have learned a great deal from Marxism” … “as I do not hesitate to admit”

[My task is to] “convert the German volk (people) to socialism without simply killing off the old individualists”

“If we are socialists, then we must definitely be anti-semites – and the opposite, in that case, is Materialism and Mammonism, which we seek to oppose.” “How, as a socialist, can you not be an anti-semite?”

“We must “find and travel the road from individualism to socialism without revolution.”

“Why socialize banks and factories? We socialize human beings.”

“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions”

What Marxism, Leninism and Stalinism failed to accomplish we shall be in a position to achieve.”
