Went to the bookstore in our local shopping center. Most all of the restaurants had signs in their windows indicating they had job openings. All the employees that were visible through the shop windows appeared to be either Hispanic or from India. Most of the shoppers in the generally upscale stores that were carrying purchases were Black.

Many of the stores had already closed even though it was only 5 p.m. Not all that many people walking around or shopping. Suspect much of the foot traffic was from an adjoining condo complex. Macy’s, one of the major anchor stores was very, very empty. Dillard’s, the other anchor store had very few shoppers. Not sure how much longer some of the brick and mortar can make it.
