Weve gone electric, and theres no going back at this point. Lithium is our new fuel, but like fossil fuels, the reserves were currently tapping into are finiteand thats what investors can take to the bank.
You may think lithium got too popular too fast. You may suspect electric vehicles are too much buzz and not enough real future. You may, in short, be a lithium skeptic, one of many. And yet, despite this skepticism, lithium demand is rising steadily and sharply, and indications that a shortage may be looming are very real.
It wont be a shortage in terms of peak lithium; rather, it will be a game of catch-up with the electric car boom, with miners hustling to explore and tap into new reserves.

I wonder if the RUSSIANS HAVE PURCHASED 20% of the US supply like they did with uranium.
Link on that? Have numbers on IC cars, but not on electrics.
We want to make sure several million cars spewing out pure water vapor in an urban area doesn’t create unintended local climate effects.
OK, I thought you were joking. Water vapor is the “greenhouse” gas that accounts for literally 98% of the “greenhouse” affect on earth. But even many millions of cars wouldn’t emit literally even a drop in the bucket as compared to evaporation from the oceans and bodies of water which make up over 71 percent of the earth’s surface, not to mention that a great deal of water evaporates from land areas also. It is unlikely that the amount of water vapor from fuel cells even in highly populated areas would ever be able to increase humidity enough even in highly populated areas to have a measurable effect.
You have however touched on something that is a tenant of the global warming nonsense however. The theory depends on CO2 increasing the humidity of the planet... there is no conclusive evidence that the humidity of the planet has been increasing in the last several decades however.
The Tesla is a great example of attacking an engineering problem from all angles. Lightweight construction, efficient powertrain design, and range comparable to a conventional auto is no small feat.
The current hurdle is the cost of the technology. Just like big screen TV’s, smart phones, and other leading edge technology, the price will drop once the manufacturing processes and supply chains are worked out.
The first automobiles were rich men’s toys. Henry Ford came up with a solution to that, and made them affordable to the masses.
Ingenuity and capitalism at its finest.
I was just joshin' with another Freeper.
Millions of automobiles with internal combustion engines already spew out vast quantities of water vapor. The difference is that water vapor precipates out of the atmosphere - it’s called rain and snow.
Can’t do WARP drive without di-lithium crystals; maybe they’re refining all the lithium for a secret project...
Which the current regime and Hillary's proposed regime are working overtime to kill, because they lead to prosperity, and prosperous proles no longer need government...
