I am so glad Mooch brought this to our attention, we just didn’t realize this “one thing”, how inconsiderate of the American people.
I must admit, I myself have slipped into this speech pattern before.
I've always thought of it as my brain's little wake-up call, telling me it's time to pay my tab, tip the bartender and go home.
Never assume the MSM tells the truth. They are proven liars.
Its a screen shot from her 2008 convention speech, right after she was done and the podium was brought down. I think its just a quirk of the fabric. There’s only one way to know for sure, and I’m not volunteering.

There is a math involved in saying “America is still the greatest country in the world”. It’s a little like the Soviet Union (Russia): they were once the largest nation in the world, BY FAR; and now, since breaking up into 15 nations, Russia has become — STILL the largest nation in the world.
I.E., the US, though once the greatest nation on earth, by any metric you would care to assert, has become a place that is being dominated by China, invaded by Mexico, terrorized and hamstrung by ISIS, distrusted by allies and disrespected by enemies — and that’s just on foreign fronts. Meanwhile, here at home, our universities are turning out marxists, our entrenched bureaucracy is corrupt and moribund, fully 1/2 of those of working age aren’t working (although most of them have some sort of aftermarket hustle they do on the side), healthcare and insurance costs are going through the roof, the people who actually work and pay taxes are unable to save because interest rates are at zero (which is mostly due to the government’s fear of what real interest rates might do to its debt-service on $19,000,000,000,000). Plus those who are doing all the work are growing more and more tired of supporting those who don’t work (but who find time to take to the streets and protest those who make their layabout lives possible). Drug use is rampant and certain to become more so as drugs are legalized. Marriage is no longer a sacred institution, and those who assert its sacredness are being persecuted. Abortion of innocent children is now accepted as normal. Women cannot be assured of safe haven in restrooms or locker rooms. Our military is being decimated and demoralized, while being used as the laboratory for all manner of perverse social experimentation. And, for all of that, the USA is STILL the greatest country in the world, but fading fast and losing ground.
Time and space would fail me of rounding out the entire litany of our descent. But I must say that michelle’s rationalized puff-piece has a brazenly hollow ring to it for me.
