Levin is not a globalist, a free trader, or a hack.

As I recall, Levin dealt with this on his radio program and said that he received no profit from this bulk purchase of his out of date book, that the purchase was in the ordinary course of business and quite typical of both the publishing industry and politics for warehoused books.

In any event, Mark Levin's vocal support of Ted Cruz goes way back to the time when Ted Cruz was running against the establishment candidate, Dewhurst, for Sen. in Texas and that early support and hardly be said to have been bought at that time.

If Levin is motivated by greed as you suggest, where is the profit for him in supporting Cruz in the latest kerfuffle over his speech at the convention? Levin made a first-rate defense of the senator and a real indictment of his critics at a time when no profit from any book deal which could possibly impute motive to Levin at this late date.

It’s always “follow the money” even with self-proclaimed conservatives. Buyer or listener beware.

The first law passed by the very first congress and signed into law by by none other than Pres. Washington was the Tariff Act. That should tell you something right there about patriotism and nationalism.

Levin is a Free Trader hack. No denying it. He will tell you that himself. Thank me.

I listened to Levin Friday night and that will be the last time ever, hadn’t listened in a while but thought I would tune in. He was railing against Trump nonstop with his constitutional high and mighty non-sense. I could swear he’s got a man crush on Cruz. Will never listen to him again, stopped listening to rush a while back, and FoxNews I stopped after Megyn’s nonsense. But Levin, I was very surprised that his is fooled by Ted Cruz, very surprised in fact.

“The first law passed by the very first congress and signed into law by by none other than Pres. Washington was the Tariff Act. That should tell you something right there about patriotism and nationalism.”

Exactly. And Hamilton, who basically wrote that law, expressly described it as a protectionist device to allow for the growth and prosperity of American ‘infant industries’.

The tariff wasn’t just a means of taxation, although it also was that.

Levin lost me the night I heard him scream at the audience that we shouldn’t worry about where things are made. It us none of our business. Just buy buy buy without regards to which country it is made in or the affect that free trade has on the US worker.

He is an idiot to say that.

He’s an idiot to double down on a bad man just because that man knows the words to the Conservative Song.

Dear Levin,

Will you be a pal and stow away the rubber duckies and folding chairs left on the Titanic? Wouldn't want them to to get wet.

Ya big jerk.

One can argue that Teddy Cruz has no principles since he broke his pledge and keeps lying and lying.

He [Levin] completely went nuts and continues it. Over and over and over. Against our candidate. The peoples candidate.

Levin refuses to humble himself, man-up and admit his errors in judgement. Now he is a "Great Nothing." WE the people have spoken; HE has made it about his damn ego.

I absolutely question his sanity AND loyalty.

Who cares what he says now? He failed to disclose material evidence of monetary and familial motivation to attack Trump. He lost credibility, impeached by his own deception to his viewers. So his explanations are nothing more then damage control for getting busted in a deception of omission.

Its theocracy to hold liberals to the standard of pay to say bias for them and then gloss over when people on our own side do the same thing.

Not one of these Free Trade genuises has been able to explain why it is that Smoot-Hawley “caused” the Great Depression when the nearly identical Fordney-McComber Tariff of 1922 was followed by the Roaring 20s.

‘Smoot-Hawley’ is the only tariff that they have ever heard of and they toss it around as the “cause” of the Depression because they heard someone make that claim once. They know nothing about the history of tariffs in America or they wouldn’t repeat that stupid claim. The Smoot-Hawley bill passed nearly a year after we know that the Depression began making their empty headed argument even more foolish.

I once pointed all this out here at FR and a few days later I heard Levin mention Fordney-McComber for the first time ever so I know that he read my post and can’t claim ignorance of the 1922 F-M tariff. But the facts of tariff history aren’t useful to his attacks on Trump so he just ignores the facts and keeps on with his rant. 99% of his audience won’t know because tariff history isn’t exactly popular reading. Says all that you need to know about Levin’s lack of honesty.

Only an ignoramus dismisses the role of [populists]

Who is dismissing the role of the people in the American revolution? Now if you choose to put the label "populism" on that movement of approximately 1/3 of the colonials you may do so but semantic games are not the salvation represented by the "populism" of the 21st century.

The revolutionary spirit of 1776 evolved into a written constitution in 1787 with a Bill of Rights. It understood the limits of majority rule. Much of the populism of today (think Bernie Sanders his followers and those who co-opt his politics) disregards elements of the Constitution and does not understand that it is the Constitution which protects us from the tyranny of the majority. At the same time it is the Constitution which protects us from the tyranny of elites. One tyranny is as deadly as the other and the protection from both is in the document. The prophylactic against tyranny is not in the fashioning of a new glossary for our time, of playing with words because using the term "populism" is no more effective in protecting liberty then is failing to use the phrase "Islamic terrorism" for the same purpose.

It the Constitution which will save us!

You can treat Levin better if you wish, but no one who seeks to divide the vote and let Cankles win deserves any respect IMHO.

Levin got most of his material from FR for many years. We put him where he is and he basically pi$$ed on all of us.
