It might have been a Sultan Knish essay I read, but somewhere I read that this is the basic reason for why Muslims aren’t integrating into Western society. Most societies in the West are based on a collaborative model; if people have differences there is a social construct/cultural process that enables them to sit down and work together to figure things out. This is a large factor in the success of Western societies. This process does not and cannot work in tribal societies like most of the ones in the middle east. The west, at least the Left in the west, has been unable to grasp that this process will not work, and thus you get utterly inane and blind proclamations like this one from this CFR boob. They truly believe that if they could just bring representatives of muslim society to the table, they could work out some kind of cooperative agreement. Meanwhile, there really is no such thing as a representative of muslim society, and even if there were, their whole culture is built around “Us and Not-Us”, and the “Not-Us” people aren’t worthy of consideration.
Remember, these are the elites and intellectuals who run this country.
