Agree the cops seemed to use way too much force but you are right on to say:

These things don't need to happen like this. I feel so bad watching what happened to Alton in that video and if I was there I would have told him to "please dude stop and fight it out in the court system."

Still, the fact remains, that cops can legally kill people, so they MUST be accountable for EVERY time they fire a weapon. Much more so than a non-police/citizen.

That is so true. I had a cocked handgun go off on me as I was stepping to the firing line. Luckily the round hit the ground in front of me, not my foot.

I am positive I didn’t touch the trigger. It just went off.

Since that day I never cock it, just fire it with a harder squeeze. Just too dangerous to walk even a foot with a cocked weapon.

The rule in most states is when defendant asserts self defense, the burden shifts to the prosecution and the standard of proof is that the prosecution must disprove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

The rule in Ohio is that defense must prove self defense to a preponderance.

Burden and Quantum of Proof as to Self-Defense - The Volokh Conspiracy.

The rules are completely different for justified use of deadly force by police. Many states have codified parts of this, both for government actors and for non-government actors.

Are you defending Alton Sterling and his right to carry a gun?

You have no issue with his violent criminal history or are you just being goofy?

The founders NEVER imagined an asshole like this having a right to carry a gun.

The founders NEVER imagined an asshole like this having a right to carry a gun.

The Founders never intended us to have so many felonies on the books, they also never intended 20 year and life sentences and were unafraid to use capital punishment.
They were, however, of the mind that there should not be two classes of citizen. The Dred Scott case denied that a freed slave was a citizen, in part because if he was he would have the right to own a firearm.

You have no issue with his violent criminal history or are you just being goofy?

If the crimes were not prosecuted, or the sentences too lenient, then the problem ought not be addressed by stripping one of rights but by correcting the investigation/prosecution/sentencing.

Are you defending Alton Sterling and his right to carry a gun?

Are you for using the government for the denying the right of a Citizen to carry a gun?
