Looks like Eotech gets around, and I would swear that his helmet is an Ops Core FAST Bump.

The assad forces did not have the Russian Air Force nor did they have the high level sustained presence of iranian ground troops nor did they have an effective joint command of a systemic nationwide military operation

The Russians are the good guys in SYRIA
I hope they succeed

Thanks for the info. On my end I am an armchair analyst. I am not posting American special forces info I find on the web because - even though it is out there on the web - I won't re-post it for deference to our troops.

Lot's of pics from Kurds taking pictures with smart phones and posting on twitter and facebook and that got some American special forces in trouble because they were wearing Kurdish militia insignia and that drove the Turks ballistic.

But I figure the Russians are fair game to post and talk about in detail for those interested in foreign policy and militaria and/or killing jihadists news.

*** One of their specialties is using an entrenching tool as a weapon. Holy crap that can make a devastating weapon! ***

Yikes, I found the Bruce Lee Of Russian forces on youtube training shovel use, and defense against shovel use. That guy could snap you, and chop you faster than a blender.

It was in Russian, so couldn’t understand it, but there wAs no move his trainee could make, that he could not counter in deadly fashion.

They are killers. Putin defeated a Syrian rebellion with 300 Spetsnaz and 2 dozen fighter bombers backing up the local yokels.

It's all about the timing. The Syrian opposition is divided and depleted. And the Russians are moping 'em up.

Total blackout is impossible. - Oh, I agree, On twitter you can find local Kurds posting pics of American SF fighting with them for example. I won't post those. If a western journalist publishes the story then I figure it is fair game to post and discuss.

That is what I was getting at.

Makes sense. Until a western journalist publishes the story, it's not "mainstream" yet.

The example I give is the US Special Forces fighting using Kurdish insignia in Syria. I knew about this weeks before it was revealed because of Twitter (local Kurds were proud of this fact and tweeted pictures). The Turks found out and went ballistic and it was reported in the Western press.

I only posted about it here after the mainstream western press mentioned it because Turkey filed a diplomatic complaint.
