Paul Davey, the father of 20-year-old Michael Sandford, helped pay for him to go to the United States to "get his life sorted out"
The father of a Brit accused of trying to kill Donald Trump said today his son had never shown an interest in politics and believes he may have been "put up to it or blackmailed".
Paul Davey, the father of 20-year-old Michael Sandford, said his family are "absolutely devastated" by reports he has been charged with attempting to assassinate the Republican presidential nominee.
Sandford is charged with 'an act of violence on restricted grounds ' after allegedly attempting to grab a gun from a police officer's holster and shoot Mr Trump at a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday.
He faces up to 10 years in prison.
Mr Davey, 50, says his son has Asperger's Syndrome and he has no idea why he would attempt to shoot the billionaire....

Not only that, but in the photo of his Mum leaving the police station, the cop behind her in the doorway is a ringer for Mark Stein.
Check the Guardian. That’s where the story is - his trip to San Bernardino, etc. The picture of his bedroom (unidentified but either in England or NJ) may be wallpaper of weapons - very 3D if not the real thing. The location is unidentified.
The kid is known to have a mental problem and I suspect he may have been influenced by what he has watched on TV or perhaps by any so called friends he may have made here in the U.S.
Based on his totally idiotic action, I'm giving him a pass and suggest a mental institution where he can get proper medication for his condition rather than thrown in prison..........
Reported that his visa had run out so he was an illegal alien. Just validated Trumps campaign.
What planet are you on? Read the British papers - read my post above; everything I wrote I got from the Mail and The Guardian including photos of his stash of weapons. Investigating an education program??? Fat chance!

I think you are mixing your cases up. You are thinking of the guy arrested in Santa Monica, perhaps?
I don’t know anyone in Santa Monica. All my info on Sandford came from The Guardian and the Daily Mail.
Just double-checked because most of you doubt my words. All of what I’ve wrote it true according to British newspapers. I can’t do the research for you. You’ll either have to do that yourself or be happy to believe this was a sad little Asperger victim who just happened to end up with a cop’s gun in his hand at a Trump rally. Those things happen!
He fits the lone white guy nut mold, and they have one thing in common, all of them—they never have a girlfriend. He’s suicidal, comes out here looking to re-hook up with Ms. Right, she’s not interested anymore, so the morose, unskilled, no job, no girl, no money, loner, with a couple of screws loose does this, maybe even looking to “suicide by cop”—remember what he told them when he got caught. Wonder if he was on meds, too, like lots of them seem to be. Who knows. There’s probably 1000 guys just like him in my city at any given moment. More out than in, for sure.

The facts are simply those set forth in the article and one other on FR. I have no idea whether they are true or not.
Guy told cops “I figured I would die in the attack.” Article says he came out here in part chasing girl he’d met over there who lives here. They say he was suicidal. They say his money ran out They say he was depressed (sounds like romance didn’t take off, right?) They say he was unskilled because he dropped out of friggin’ high school—sounds reasonable. They said he had no money, ergo one can reasonhe had no job. So, those are the facts as reported, make what you will of them.

Relax! I was simply saying that I think you may have seen the “arsenal” phono in regard to the Santa Monica case, since no one else seems to have seen it reported in this matter. Who knows, carry on.

I’m simply referring to the other 20 year old white guy arrested with an “arsenal” in Santa Monica what was big news last week. I simply thought you may have seen THAT article and incorrectly recalled “San Bernardino” when it was “Santa Monica”, which is a different town in CA.

Until the photo of his bedroom is cleared up (which features heavy weaponry against a camouflage background), I will continue to believe his father sent him to my beloved country rather than have him commit an awful crime in England. And that is because all Europeans think that America is a dumping ground for their flotsam and jetsam. Once we turned that into gold, today I fear we turn it into brass.

I do have a dog in the hunt as a native of England, now Canadian citizen. I do know that these ominous acts bring forth righteous fury. I myself think that Donald Trump's forays against politically correct obscenity are vital. They are the saving of the Constitution of the United States and the defence of free speech.
All I can say in support of what you have said here is wait and let the facts decide. I do understand the outrage however.(mail for you).
