Unilateral disarmament in the face of hostile, heavily armed adversaries was a hopelessly naïve idea during the Cold War and is equally unworkable now in the domestic arena.
This most recent mass killing-by-firearm has once again been exploited by the Hard Left to make the case to further render law-abiding citizens defenseless against armed criminals, terrorists and crazies.
It deflects attention away from the fact that those who are charged to protect us have let us down once again. There was plenty of warning that Omar Mateen was disposed to perpetrate such an atrocity; from his own words and deeds as well as from his family, mosque and religious tenets of not living in peace with non-believers -- even in their own homelands.
As was the case in other notorious shootings, this took place in a "gun-free" zone. Far more loss of life has been continuing on an ongoing basis in the shooting gallery that is Chicago, where gun ownership is denied to law-abiding citizens -- but are possessed in great numbers by gangs and others who tend to not obey the law nor value human life.
But all of this is by design. Those who are informed amongst the Left know that we are safer in places where the citizenry is empowered to defend themselves with firearms and are the least safe where we are disarmed. That is why the elites among the Left, the politicians and celebrities, are protected by armed bodyguards.
They are Important People, after all, and are entitled to what they do not think you should have -- to be able to survive in an increasingly dangerous world that they created through their arrogant policies of appeasing our enemies and having sympathy for violent criminals.
Further, our suffering at the hands of armed criminals, terrorists and crazies fits into a pattern that plays into an agenda. We are supposed to be passive victims. Our rapes, robbries and deaths are supposed to be flogged so we can wring our hands at what society must of done to make the perpetrators do something so desperate.
Then the case is made for more social programs that will seek "root causes" and establish "positive alternatives" to mayhem, bloodshed and murder.
An armed, law-abiding citizen successfully thwarting being victimized messes all of this up; it is a tragedy, in fact, to the Hard Left.
Because, I promise you if one armed patron or staff member had cut the #OrlandoShooting short, we wouldn't even be talking about it. The story would have been relegated to local coverage only -- as is the case in the vast majority of times when firearms are used to thwart crimes rather than perpetrate them.
All those left wing folks can start by voluntarily disarming themselves.
When they refuse, because it “won’t work” unless everyone does it, ask how they’re going to get criminals to disarm.
Half of gun sales are liberals. No joke. People tend to think conservatives buy guns but in reality half are from Democrats.
Do you get it now? their intention is to disarm non-violent citizens (Whites/Christians) and deliberately leave guns in the hands of violent criminals. (you know who they are)
Liberals with guns are hypocrites who preach “Do as I say, not as I do”, along with “Guns for me but not for thee”, like Diane Feinstein.
Charlton Heston, the man personally responsible for getting the 1968 Gun Control Act passed and never lifted a finger to get it repealed.

Amitai Etzioni is the guru of “communitarianism”, a snoop-and-snitch form of local government similar to Cuban block watch committees, with the same reliance on informants.
Etzioni has pushed for total confiscation of guns since at least 1991, and his “domestic disarmament” screed gets trotted out by HuffPo every time there is a mass shooting.
As usual, Etzioni is all theory & no cattle. His essays are short on the logistics & organizations needed to carry out door-to-door confiscation, and long on using “name and shame” against gun owners, along with reeducating & propagandizing the children.
Etzioni is an aging unrequited fascist who will never live to see people’s firing squads executing dissident miscreants.
Google his works just for snits & giggles. Worth a laugh.
The Left is highly concerned that Moslems may be feeling unfairly intimidated at the prospect that their religious beliefs might lead to heightened peril to individuals engaged in normal Moslem religious practices which must be protected by society for the sake of diversity i.e. pious moslems might just face armed resistance when they go to perform acts of jihad and they might get hurt. That would unfairly deter them from those pious acts.
Note to liberal fascists and dirty little state supremacists: I will not register my weapons or disarm because FY. That is all you need to know.
I say, “let’s do it!” Let’s start the confiscation. I ain’t getting any younger!!
