Ex-CEO of McDonald’s: $15 Minimum Wage ‘To Cause Job Loss … Like You’re Not Going to Believe’
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | May 24, 2016 | Jerome Hudson

Posted on 05/25/2016 2:58:54 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Former McDonald’s CEO Ed Rensi appeared on Fox Business Network and warned progressive groups against $15 per hour minimum-wage hikes.

“I was at the National Restaurant Show yesterday and if you look at the robotic devices that are coming into the restaurant industry — it’s cheaper to buy a $35,000 robotic arm than it is to hire an employee who’s inefficient [while] making $15 an hour bagging French fries,” Rensi said Tuesday.

“It’s nonsense and it’s very destructive and it’s inflationary and it’s going to cause a job loss across this country like you’re not going to believe,” Rensi added....

Support for minimum wage is proof of less than minimum IQ.

Dumba$$ libs can take responsibility for this. I will gladly deal with a robot over the worthless work ethic of so many young workers at fast food places.

They can’t control someone who’s broken no laws so they make enough things illegal that living itself becomes a crime. And they can’t control someone who’s employed and not dependent on them so they make it near impossible for young people to find their way into productive work, putting them on the government teat as early as they can. Mustn’t let them feel the self respect that comes with independence. It is most definitely a plan.

I tried to tell a dummy who thinks that taking away the CEOs pay would pay for the increase to 15 dollars. So I played the game. The CEO made 8 million cash. They hire 3.9 million workers. So each gets a raise of 14.32 cents a YEAR! They are so dumb.

$15/hour at 11 hours a day (11am to 10pm) on the fry station is $165 per day. At 365 days, that is $60,225 in wages alone (not counting other expenses) just to have someone on fries at every McDonalds.

There are around 1,100 McDonalds in California, so if they instituted a $15 minimum wage, manning the fry station for all of their lunch and dinner service would run around $66,247,500 in wages.

1,100 robotic arms would be $38,500,000. Even if you had to spend money to maintain them and replace the occasional piece of equipment, it is still a huge savings to go the robotic route.

And that is just in the first year...

The goal of communist politicians is to destroy the economy across all sectors. They want a very tiny elite (including themselves) to rule over the smoldering ruins of a once great country. They will sacrifice millions of people to live in a pathetic gated community for a few years until the next revolution overthrows them. Don’t try to understand such thinking, no sane person really understands, but it is a pattern that is repeated over and over.

At what point does right wing media stop using left wing propaganda terms?

“Progressive” is what marxists are calling themselves these days.

I still can’t figure out why right wing media outlets are following suit.

Marxists raus!!!!!

Ditto for “manufacturing jobs” the populists want “back”. The only thing coming back is the automation bots. Rest of the “workers” that are promised jobs will be on welfare.

“They will sacrifice millions of people to live in a pathetic gated community for a few years until the next revolution overthrows them.”

Unfortunately, these hideous “utopias” seem to last for decades or longer, like NK, and the South American hellholes, and Cuba, etc. The counter-revolutions don’t seem to do very well. The USA is sinking at light speed and no one seems to be able, or even willing, to stop the nightmare from descending on us.

I knew Ed back when I was in college (I was friends with his daughter). Interesting guy. Came out of the mountains in West Virginia, started out working the grill in a McD’s. They sent him to college, and he worked his way up to CEO. He knows what he’s talking about.

I agree.

If you kill the entry level jobs you ensure a steady stream of welfare recipients. The Democrats want to kill minimum wage jobs.

$15/hour at 11 hours a day (11am to 10pm) on the fry station is $165 per day.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Then you are talking 2 5 1/2 shifts and will basically need 2 people so to cover absenteeism etc...

If you figure 1 person, ALL over 8 is OT....just saw where they passed that salaried people get OT over 8 also...

That was the idea of a salary - one was basically guaranteed a check 52 weeks out of the year with no fluctuation - in the construction business, that was a plus.

Then it went to Health care, vacation, sick leave, now pregnancy leave for the Males.

I am basically anti-union BUT I do realize that everytime the Union got something, it would trickle down to us private sector people and the PS owners would have to pay close to Union scale in order to keep some decent help.
